The staff were all very knowledgable and helpful. The outdoor fire making demonstration was especially well done. There could have been a little more directions in parts of the displays that took us thruough trip.

The temporary Giant Springs detour is quite convoluted, but this is an excellent national park museum that clearly explains the significance of Lewis & Clark's Corps of Discovery. However, I wish there was more information about the approximately 40 other men who did not keep journals--a prominent listing of their names would be nice.

Also, I think change should come back in Sacagawea dollars.

Be sure to stop at nearby Giant Springs State Park. It is a shady place for a riverside picnic, with a playground for the kids.

Love the history of the region. Lewis and Clark expedition stymied here....For a few weeks anyway...The 30km 'portage' around the GREAT FALLS x2
recommended for history buffs and 'just mildly interested' types

The Lweis and Clark Unterpretive center was clean and the staff were freindy and helpful The exhibits level was amazing in detailing the journey undertaken by Meriwether Lewis and William Clark across Montana, by highlighting the issues with dealing with local tribes living in that area and problems of potage.

The Museum does an excellent job of educating its visitors about the Lewis and Clark expidition in an easy to understand, interesting way for all ages. The visit should start with a 30 min. movie on the expidition's two year journey. Afterwards the exhibits are set-up in order from the start in St. Louis to the return. There area also a number of hands on exhibits that are of interest. You and your family will enjoy the visit and exit with additional knowledge of how America expanded westword and discovered new plants, animals and the cruelties of scaling the Rockies.
