We stayed here 2 nights. The rooms were nice but the town is very small and not alot going on but the view! We went whitewater rafting and horse back riding while there. A good place to stay but keep in mind its a very small town.

The hotel itself was OK for a small town like this out of Yellowstone but the experience we had with a less than spotless restroom in our room leaves us never wanting to return. The toilet had a brown run down the entire front of the bowl prior to us using the restroom. Upon writing the chain itself I received several automated promises that I would be contacted as well as a survey to see how it was resolved but no one ever called me from the hotel. We only stayed one night and discovered this late in the evening and left early for the park otherwise we would have spoken to them directly but it is clear they are not too concerned since they have not attempted to contact us regarding our concern.

Gardiner is a great place to stay for Yellowstone National Park. Just about a mile to the entrance! Hotel is of the older variety and could use some updating, but it is the nicest in this small town. Room has typical "western" styling--moose on the lampshades, that sort of thing. It needed better lighting--hard to read in there. Very nice amenities in the bathroom. Nice pool and hot tub (both indoors). No breakfast included but they gave us 10% off the restaurant breakfast buffet which was good. We also ate at the hotel restaurant for dinner and it was surprisingly good. Wonderful homemade soup and the trout we ordered was perfectly prepared and accompanied by fresh asparagus and I chose the baked sweet potato instead of the usual potatoes. Excellent.

We try to vacation at Yellowstone once every other year. In 2007 and prior years we have stayed at West Yellowstone, last time we chose Gardiner for something different.
The first thing we noticed when checking in was how b**hy the front desk lady was. We waited while she was on the phone with someone else, and listened to her loose a sale because of her, well moodiness. Check in seemed kinda long.
*When entering the room we noticed a very strong body odor. We complained.
*Second thing we noticed was the bed-s. They screwed up and gave us 2 queens instead of a King. They didn't have anything else available that night so gave us a whole "$10" discount which took 2 weeks on the credit card to appear.
*Third- the floor in the bathroom was Very sticky.
*Fourth- don't count on their Wifi service. The internet traffic was very jammed. Google took 5 minutes to load, and it was like that until 1am (luckily I subscribe to mobile broadband)...
*Fifth-The hot tub in the pool room smelled really bad, the chemicals were really really strong.
*Sixth-Breakfast. Don't go to their restaurant. The food tasted horrible, and cost $35 for 2 people, yuk.
Next time we go to Yellowstone we're staying at West Yellowstone. The hotels over there are nice and at a reasonable price/good location. Jackson Hole and Cody are very overpriced.
If you're dying to stay in Gardiner I'd recommend the Comfort Inn, haven't stayed there before, but they looked good.
Next time we go to Yellowstone we might have lunch at Gardiner, that's about it.

A classic old motel/hotel. Rooms are ok but not more than that - also seems a bit old. Breakfast is served in a restaurant close to the hotel. The food is not very good, we also had dinner in the same restaurant, which was not very good either.
