We had the opportunity in June 2012 to visit Yellowstone as we headed to Glacier, we planned an overnight at his hotel .A health condition changed our plans and we had to regroup!
We were very pleased to spend a few nights here. The hotel room was large, comfortable with a pleasing view of the river. Just the view out the window was great. Rafting trips passed the window several times a day. It was fun to watch them as we relaxed. We arrived before we expected at the hotel and had to stay a couple of extra days later. The management was so accommodating and kind! They really added to our vacation and helped us when we had to change our plans.
We would return to this hotel. The location is very reasonable for visiting Yellowstone. There is much to see locally, the room was clean, quiet, comfortable, and management was supportive.

Room Tip: Ask for a river view king.

The Mammoth Hot Springs is right on the main drag of Gardiner and overlooks the Yellowstone River. It has two main units, with only one overlooking the river. This is definitely the better choice. The rooms come with king-size beds are equipped with a microwave oven, mini-fridge, flat-screen TV and free Internet. The beds are great and a fairly good hot (and free) continental breakfast is served. Unfortunately, the cutlery is not always well washed. The hotel also has an indoor pool and a sauna, which is really nice to have after a day in the park. Service is extremely friendly. There is a restaurant (The Yellowstone Mine) on the premises.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room overlooking the Yellowstone River

We have stayed at this hotel many times as a base for exploring Yellowstone National Park. The rooms are clean and nice, if slightly plain. The indoor heated pool is a hit for the kids, and the restaurant the Yellowstone Mine, is very good. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. But surely the best thing about this hotel is the view when you look out the window! Beautiful mountain views and 5 minutes to the park entrance!

Gardiner is what I would describe as "ramshackle" and a bit untidy, so we were a little worried about what our hotel would be like. But we worried for nothing. The rooms were lovely and the bed and pillows comfortable. Also, having been in West Yellowstone the night before and dined at a restaurant where we had a pretty awful meal, we were cautious when we went to dinner at the restaurant which is attached to this hotel - the Yellowstone Mine hotel which is very rustic and homey. What a pleasant surprise! We had a beautiful meal and the steak was one of the best I've ever had. We also had breakfast at this restaurant which was hearty and happy that they used proper crockery and cutlery...Yay again!

Would definitely stay here again and definitely dine at the Yellowstone Mine.

Haven't stayed in many places in Gardiner Montana so I don't know what to compare it to. It is an older hotel and could use some updating. Wasn't the cleanest place/room but there were no bed bugs and slept OK. It does have a pool/hot tub which was nice. Restaurant is off-site and breakfast was really crowded but we survived and moved on after one night.

This gem of a hotel in Gardiner lies right outside the North Yellowstone National Park gate. The check-in staff were great; the breakfast buffet was excellent (with both hot and cold food); and the hotel room was perfect. My friend and I stayed in the two-bedroom (which really consists of two rooms with no door in between, but which is perfectly adequate), which had a kitchenette that worked well for our purposes. The room was quiet, the bed was comfy, and we had absolutely no complaint about this wonderful little gem of a hotel.

Room Tip: With two friends travelling together all day in the car for three days straight, it was nice to have...
