This restaurant is under new ownership in 2013. It is now called Wild West Corral Drive-In. The owners of the Wild West Rafting company bought it and have taken on this small restaurant with vigor and dedication. Some food items have changed, but the food is still fantastic and the crew take extra care to make it "your way." Good value and great memories. I go there every time I drive through Gardiner.

We make a point to eat here every time we travel out to Yellowstone. Their buffalo burgers are the best! You also must try the Huckleberry Shake! A little expensive but it's worth it!

Appearing to be under new ownership/management, the burger joint that once was Helen’s Corral no longer displays Helen’s picture on the wall nor offers elk burgers on the menu. Beef was a poor substitute, but OK as beef burgers go. Their presentation style has slipped a notch. Where burger was previous laid in basket assembled (tall and impressive when photographed), burger is now provided open-faced – perhaps to mask the presence of fewer French fries in the basket than provided in the days of Helen. I can’t prove it was less, but it looked and felt like less. Just saying. Accompanying chocolate malted was delicious and so thick that a spoon was required and it didn’t melt right away, not even in warm weather.

We tried this based on the TA reviews where were mixed but we thought we would try it out.
The service was BAD, as we waited 30 minutes for over cooked burgers, the fries were just like hard sticks and the milk shake that most reviewers liked was ice cream in a cup, melting. Also it was expensive for what you got. Go to the Light House as the food is better quality, better service and for the same price.

Nearly 30 minutes for 2 burgers with fries. Crazy. Food was fine, but considering it wasn't even very busy, I don't know what their problem is.
