“Home away from home - open all year!”
Reviewed April 10, 2013

An absolutely beautiful place to stay, right next to Yellowstone National Park. We stayed with Nancy and Richard for two nights at the beginning of April 2013. It was like staying with family - like having mum & dad look after you. Beautiful breakfast each morning cooked by Nancy, lovely beds and rooms, everything you could ever think to need - they have provided. Nancy even let me take a book from their library away with me which I had started to read and hadn't finished, which I will post back when I'm done. Nancy and Richard both have extensive knowledge of the area and of Yellowstone so it was great to pick their brains over breakfast!
I don't even know what else to say because everything was just amazing, I could go on forever. Basically, if you're after a relaxing and quiet place to stay, with local knowledge and lovely people, then this is the place. We can't wait to come back!

Room Tip: We stayed in bedroom number 1 (i think...!), but honestly i think all rooms would be the same in ter...

Nancy and Richard are the proprietors of this home. It is like staying with new family members you just met. They run their home bed and breakfast all year; we stayed in the thick of February during snow storms. The fact they are there in winter is a welcome home away from home when 1/2 the town closes down. The rooms are very nice, antique'd, including some of Richard's grandmothers furniture, the photos, bedding, colors, everything were placed with special attention by Nancy, who brings New England old world charm to all small town in Montana. Nancy is the queen of this place, she welcomes you with a smile so big you can't see her eyes. She will talk with you for hours with wonderful stories. And she feeds you a meal so big you don't need to eat until dinner. I feel I made friends with Nancy and Richard, not just conducted a business arrangement. My spouse, child, and dogs thoroughly relaxed and enjoyed Richard and Nancy's company, oh, and the place too, just 2 blocks from the entrance to Yellowstone, we were walking in the evening with Yellowstone deer.

Room Tip: Few rooms to choose from, either get the one with your own bathroom, or share a bathroom

I almost hate to write this for fear we'll have more difficult booking when we visit Yellowstone again, but GGH is a great place. As Nancy said when she was first planning her business, if it is to be a B&B it needs to have good beds and a great breakfast. Not only has she succeeded in having both, but visiting her and Richard are part of any good trip to Yellowstone for us. You can't go wrong, especially if you appreciate the kind of efforts and hospitality that go into having a B&B.

We had planned an overnight trip to Yellowstone Park, later realized that it was 3 day weekend and decided to stay an additional night in Gardiner. After reading the Trip Advisor reviews for the Gardiner Guest House, we decided to stay here. The guest house is very nice, very comfortable, and the food is great. The hosts Nancy and Richard are the best. Nancy is an absolute delight and since Richard is the longtime owner of Park's Fly Shop, he is an expert on Yellowstone Park fishing. We did not want to share a bathroom, so we stayed in the large guestroom with a private bath. (I did learn that if the large guest room is not available, there is sometimes an option to rent both smaller rooms and not have to share the bath.) Over the past 17 years we have stayed at many places in Gardiner and this is definitely our favorite. We hope to be back soon....

Our stay at the Gardiner guest house added that extra special uniqueness to our cross country ski trip to Yellowstone. The food was excellent--different breakfasts were prepared fresh each morning, and Nancy kept a supply of tasty snacks to nibble on in the evening along with a cup of tea. We enjoyed the library of informative books, CDs, and DVDs and reading the daily paper each day. Nancy and Richard's knowledge of the area, and of things to do and places to go to were invaluable in making our visit complete. The home is very clean, comfortable, and located in a quiet neighborhood. It is definitely a place that I want to return to and recommend it to anyone wanting a place to stay while in the Yellowstone area.

This was our first time at a B&B. It was very much like home, so warm and cozy. The house was wonderful and so convenient. It is very close to the north entrance of Yellowstone and therefore perfectly located. Nancy and Richard were great hosts and her breakfasts were different every day. The food was awesome and it just made our winter trip to yellowstone so much better. I would definitely recommend this B&B for your trip to the yellowstone area.

I've stayed at the Gardiner Guest House several times, and have family members who have stayed there as well based on my recommendation. It's always a lovely experience. The rooms are comfortable, the hostess is a doll, and her breakfast in the morning is excellent. 2 minute drive to the entrance of Yellowstone National Park!
