“great place to stay”
Reviewed May 17, 2014

We stayed at the Yellowstone Basin Inn for 3 nights in mid May. It was very clean. We felt very at home. It was like no other experience we have ever had staying in a hotel/Inn. Greg and Scott gave us a lot of great information on what to see and where to go. Even the time of day to go to get the best look. The breakfast's were wonderful. We would stay at the Yellowstone Basin Inn again.

We stopped in for two nights during a quick visit to Yellowstone in January. We were the only visitors at the Inn and we were made to feel very much at home. Greg gave us some great advice on where to go, what to see, where to eat, etc. We stayed in the Paradise Cabin room and he had the stove going heating it up before we arrived. The room never got "toasty" but it definitely took the chill off and it was extremely cold out so we definitely appreciated that! It was nice to have cooking facilities in the unit so we could come back at nice and make a nice pot of hot soup, get in our pj's and relax. I would definitely recommend Yellowstone Basin Inn and would like to visit again - next time in warmer weather!

Enjoyed our stay last September. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. This was a welcome home trip from Afghanistan for our son-in-law. We enjoyed watching the bald eagles while having our breakfast each morning. Greg gave us alot of good ideas before entering the park each day. Since the hotel is a few miles out of town, it is very quiet and you can relax and sit on the porch and gaze at the stars. We were only there a few minutes when we spotted elk. The sandwiches were very good that we carried into the park one day. Can't wait until our next trip to Yellowstone and Yellowstone Basin Inn.

Room Tip: Montana Suite was very large, good kitchen and pantry area. Our daughter and son-in-law enjoyed the...

We were here in September 2013 and enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was very good. The innkeepers did a great job helping people plan their daily excursions over breakfast.

Very comfortable accommodations with a great breakfast.
Most helpful is the owner Greg and his wife Sabrina. They provided a wealth of information and advice about everything in the area that maximized our two day stay. We saw grizzlies, black bears, mountain goats, big horned sheep, and actually stood thirty yards from a female grey wolf thanks to his advice.
We highly recommend this family run operation.

Stayed for just 1 night on our 11 night road trip from Las Vegas to Denver. What a great choice. Was able to correspond with the owner Greg prior to booking which was appreciated, to ensure the available room suited our needs. Thorough check-in, and then after some very specific tips on the best off road places to see wildlife in Yellowstone, we left and indeed were successful in seeing everything we wanted to (except a bear!). Despite returning after 8pm, Greg had stayed to give us all a calf lassoing lesson. He was very patient and my 2 teenage daughters thought he was cool. I requested some ice, which was produced quickly, but I would suggest a small ice machine would be appreciated by guests who have forgotten to make a request before the reception closes for the evening about 9pm. Accommodation was exactly as described, with good controllable aircon and furnished to a high standard. Beds were comfortable and we slept well. Breakfast was healthly, organic and slightly quirky, geared towards health conscous "eco" types. This is a great place to stay for North Yellowstone, but the star of the show is the owner Greg, a great host, sincere and passionate about his hotel and the surrounding area.

Greg was very friendly and informative about Yellowstone National Park.
We arrived late (about 9 pm), however, Greg still spent the time suggesting an itinerary while in the park. The sights and excursions suggested were excellent saving my wife and I a lot of time including a location to see wolves and other wildlife.

The next morning we had an excellent homemade breakfast cooked by Sabrina.
The same morning Greg also had a powerful scope aimed at a bald eagle across the river as well as a herd of antelope.
Our room was was in excellent condition and the beds were very comfortable.
I would highly recommend staying at the Yellowstone Basin Inn.
