Had everything we wanted. A good, honest, clean hotel.
Oh, the nearby pizza place was good as well!#

We checked in after a long air flight and having to drive from Jackson Hole, Wy. We checked in with NO problems. The rooms were cleaned. Everyone there is very nice. We asked about places to eat in the area and they were very helpful with that. Everywhere we ate around the hotel was in walking distance with the exception of 1. The food was good at all places. Everyone we meet while there was very nice and would tell us places to go and see.
I really enjoyed staying there in Gardiner, MT.

The hotel is fairly new, or at least newer condition than the others in town. I paid $110.00/night, while booking the room 1 month in advance. The room is decently priced for what is available in the area. The only downfall was that there were numerous bugs found inside the room. While writing this review, I have killed at least a dozen mosquito's, and other small insects. 3 weeks prior while on a company outing, we stayed at the Comfort Inn Hotel, 300 feet in front of the travelodge and it was far better as far as comfort of the room, bed, breakfast and most of all no insects in the room.

Thank you for taking the time to place your review of our hotel. These reviews are important to us and we take each one very seriously. I appreciate that you felt this hotel was a good value for the area. We work very hard to stay within the lowest price range among the area hotels while still giving our guests considerable value.

I did want to address the issue of bugs, though! You are correct - there were a lot of airborne insects during your stay dates. Every year in August and, sometimes, into September, this area is home to numerable flying insects that are attracted to light. It typically lasts 3 to 4 weeks and we do everything we can to combat it (bug light bulbs, spraying, etc.) but we are in wild country up here and we can only control it to a certain degree. All of our rooms do open up to an outdoor walkway so as to ensure all of our guests a stunning mountain view. Unfortunately, when doors are left open the bugs will gravitate toward the lights and enter the room. You are correct that at Comfort Inn you didn't have to deal with the bugs since they have all indoor hallways and room entrances! We realize the bugs during those weeks can be a nuisance...but we still prefer to allow everyone that breathtaking view! Again, thank you kindly for your review and we hope to have you back with us on your next visit to Yellowstone!!
Sincerely, Tom Rapp

This proved to be a good overnight stop. The room and staff were very good and there the location on the edge of Yellowstone is a major selling point. The breakfast must be taken back to the room to be eaten since there is no seating, but that was a minor inconvenience.

We spent 5 days here and were very impressed. Excellent customer service, very clean rooms, adequate breakfast. The rooms are not huge but neither were they cramped for our family of 4. My husband had food poisoning during our stay and they were very helpful in directing us to a medical clinic, deep cleaning the bathroom, etc. They even gave us a free cot so our 7 year old didn't have to share a bed with him while he was sick. Extremely convenient to Yellowstone which is why we were there. Great laundry room (which, trust me, we needed!). Breakfast is OK with even a few healthy choices in addition to the donuts - cereal, toast, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, apples... The hotel is off the main road just enough to be very quiet. We were very happy with our stay there and highly recommend it!

The Travelodge staff “wowed” me. Over a month ago my wife and I had made reservations at the Best Western in Gardiner for four nights. We checked in, and they had no record of our reservation, even though we had a confirmation number. They were completely filled up and wouldn’t accommodate us. The desk clerk also told us that all rooms in the town were taken.

We drove across the street to the Travelodge. I met your desk clerk, Pam. She was kind, courteous, and very helpful. She explained that there was no vacancy, but she began calling other motels in the town. I asked her how far it would be to drive to Livingston so we could get a room for the night. Having driven all day from Salt Lake City, I didn’t especially want to drive another sixty miles. She went on the Internet and printed out nine pages of lodging facilities in Livingston and gave me her phone so I could begin calling.

I had just begun calling when Pam told me that a cancellation had just come in, so we could get a room for the night at the Travelodge. I was very grateful. Not only that, but we could get a room for a second night, although we would have to change rooms.

Upon leaving the Travelodge on Wednesday morning, I wanted to reward Pam with a tip. She refused the tip and just asked me to go to your website and express my appreciation.

Thanks to the manager, Tom Rapp, and especially to you, Pam, for helping us patch up an unfortunate incident. Do whatever is necessary to keep Pam; she’s very valuable. Only problem is, I think she’s sure to move up to higher responsibilities. She’s the kind of employee that is hard to find.
