“curteous crew, clean rooms and perfect view”

We missed the camping site reservation at yellowstone and were looking for a place to stay for a night. Travelodge is kind of away from main street so it was never our first preference but smelly rooms at other places forced us to check this place.
Their rates are nice, being away from main street actually helps with the view. we saw ELKs grazing from the room window.
The facilities were great. cleans rooms with a nicely maintained bathroom. Shower was great.

the serve a nice breakfast for free with lots of stuff, like multiple type of cereals, eggs, potatoes, muffins, juices, tea, coffee, fruits, jams, jellies, cream cheese... I do not remember rest but there were 5 things more.

the staff was facilitating and polite. I forgot who checked us in but Cindy was there in the morning and gave a lot of information about the place.

Great place.

Room Tip: Top floor for best view. there is elevator

My wife and I stayed here for 1 night. It was a spur of the moment decision to spend a day in the northern part of yellowstone and stay a night in Gardiner. We chose this hotel based on the reviews on tripadvisor. I have nothing but positives to say. We stayed in May which is the offseason so the rate was very affordable. We were able to get a government discount which dropped the price of the room to $67.00 which includes tax. We stayed on the 3rd floor and had a awesome view. Looking right at large, grassy hills that were filled with hundreds of elk. The room was very comfortable, beds were good, tv had 30+channels including some movie channels,a small fridge, a/c/heat worked great, room was very clean as was the bathroom. Upon first entering the room we found a hand written card on the bed with our name on it thanking us for choosing to stay there and advising if we needed anything to not hesitate to call. It was from the manager. A very nice touch. A small and easy gesture yet this is the first time either of us have ever received a handwritten thank you card at any hotel and we stay at alot of hotels. I noticed a previous review said the hotel was hard to find. I don't see how as this is a very small town and if your on the main road that goes through town its very easy to find. Finally, the breakfast buffet was good and had several choices and all staff members we had contact with were very friendly. This hotel definitely earns it #1 rating.

Room Tip: 3rd floor rooms facing mountains have great views

First off - if you are going to Yellowstone you aren't going for the superior hotel accommodations (unless you plan years in advance and stay IN the park itself). Gardiner is a tiny tourist town that exists as a gateway to the Park, nothing more. So if you go not expecting world-class luxury, you won't be disappointed.

Everything is expensive there, so I didn't love the cost for the room, but it was no better or worse than anything else available. The continental breakfast really isn't much of one compared to other hotel chain breakfasts.

This hotel is farthest from the park entrance and a little hard to find, but by "farther" I mean by a few blocks, not miles. The town itself couldn't be more than 12 blocks. Having passed all the other hotels, I think next time I would try the Absaroka Lodge. From the outside, at least, it peaked my interest.

We arrived here around lunchtime fresh from a 4am start to catch the sunrise on the Beartooth Highway... it was Saturday, and there was only one room left, and it was EXPENSIVE. But the receptionist (owner?) was super-friendly and showed us around before we decided... we went for it and didn't regret it. The location was excellent (of course - it's basically "in" Yellowstone), and the room was small, but very clean, and the aircon was very effective (it needed to be - it was roasting hot even in late September). We had a burger from Helen's Corral (our second time ever - it's the best thing about Gardiner), we had a nap, and then went for a drive around the upper loop in the park (we were rewarded with a close encounter with a Black Bear on Mt. Washburn...!). Came back and had dinner in the Cowboy Lodge (the pulled pork was outstanding).

You can tell that the owners take great pride in their simple accommodations. Our room was very small and expensive (peak season), but the cleanliness and great location made up for it. I am not quite sure how the friendly staff managed to stuff so many different yummy breakfast snacks into their tiny kitchen. Gardiner is an interesting town with lots of Old West character that hasn't been overly commercialized.

Taking daughter and roommate to school in Washington state, we intended to stay one night in the Yellowstone area. We selected the Travelodge based on price, location and AAA rating. The place is scrupulously clean, and the upper rooms at the north end have a beautiful view. Then my daughter contracted a tummy bug; throwing up, high fever, etc. The staff were very attentive: provided extra cleaning supplies, directions to the drug store, information about local medical care, chipped ice, and rearranged other reservations so we could stay until she recovered. I would recommend this as a lovely place to stay if you plan to visit Yellowstone.

My husband and I have made several trips to Yellowstone and stayed in various hotels/motels in Gardiner. We have now found the one that we will make our first choice - the hosts are so helpful, the patio table and chairs were wonderful for a cold drink and watching the sun set, and the morning breakfast was much more than we anticipated.
