We booked a 2 hour horseback ride with Flying Pig which turned out to be provided by Hells-A-Roarin' in Jardine.

They have a nice ranch with plenty of horses which take you through some lovely woodland. Based upon this I would have given a better score but...

They are not customer oriented and definitely not client friendly.

We had to wait almost 1 hour after our allotted start time before we were ready to depart. Mainly because there was none around when we showed up. This was the same for the next group who followed us who complained about that when we returned.

Others in our group (but not our party) had youngsters riding. One lady's son (aged 8) was showing trepidation when mounting and getting ready to depart. The tour leaders response to him was "Man Up and start riding". Not the best way to encourage a first timer...

Throughout the ride the guide was disinterested or abrupt.

We didn't tip and left as soon as we could. It was as a shame as it could have been much better.

We enjoyed a fantastic time floating down the Yellowstone River as a family and highly recommend it. It was 2 hours filled with sights of Elk, Deer, Osprey and other animals. Our guide Anna was awesome as she helped us go thru some rapids but also gave us plenty of facts about the area while doing so. Thanks Pig.

The best part was the guides -- they were strong, capable and extremely friendly and fun. But the overall organization of the trip, chaos in, sort of a thud at the end. Lunch was a smashed sandwich on a poopy island with everyone sort of scattered about looking for a place to perch. It all felt like the guides were making the best of a poorly run operation. If we went on another rafting trip I think we'd opt for smaller rafts and a company that offered helmets (at least for the kids, who all went in). At the end you can get a picture of your trip for $40, kind of an overpriced add on that should be part of the package.

Kate, thank you for your honest review, feedback is how we improve. In fact, we have changed our sandwiches from last year after hearing reviews and chose a local gourmet cook who uses artisan sourdough, individually wrapped toppings on the side, and fresh baked cookies. We now store them in larger coolers so they all stay perfectly delicious at the island where we have cleaned-up to provide better seating. Helmets are mandatory for everyone during the high-water season (May-June) and are optional afterwards, we review our policies every year and will take your concerns very seriously, especially for your children.

This company ran everything perfectly from every aspect. The trip starts right at their building and you get bused back. The rafting trip is going to vary depending on the time of year you go we went mid summer and there were some rapids that were perfect for the whole family. They do offer more advanced trips as well. We did the horseback riding as well which takes you up thru the woods. It was a bit long for me and I would of preferred an hour and a half instead of 2 1/2 hours but they did a great job as well. All in sal I wouldn't go with any other company they were awesome!

We did the paddle/saddle and cowboy cookout with the Flying Pig Adventure company! Everything was so fun and very well organized! We had SO much fun on every excursion we did! Our water rafting guide was awesome, so fun and helpful. I would definitely recommend this to people wanting to do adventures near the park! Nice work, we'll be back!!!
