One call and you can set up anything from a quick float down the river to a complete vacation that includes lodging and an awesome activity package. Our activities include White water or Scenic Rafting, Horseback Rides, Fly Fishing, Park Tours and even shopping at our Camp Store. Above all else, we are best known for our friendly staff and excellent customer service. We love sharing the adventures of the Yellowstone area with our guests...And it shows! Many years ago, the Flying Pig got its start with whitewater rafting, and that is still the premier event today. Thousands of people have enjoyed our 8 Mile, 18 Mile and Overnight Rafting Trips on the Yellowstone River. We have awesome guides and our own private river access. In addition to whitewater trips, we also offer scenic floats for those who want to sit back, relax and soak in the views. Looking for a true Montana experience at a horse ranch? The Flying Pig offers horseback rides at a beautiful privately-owned alpine ranch just a few miles above town. The fun continues inside Yellowstone Park with Park Tours and Fly Fishing. In fact, we can take you fishing in some of the best trout rivers and streams in North America. We have also expanded to a second store location at 204 Park Street in Gardiner, where we offer a full complement of camping, hiking, fishing and apparel. Looking to experience Yellowstone first hand? Want to try something new? Give us a call and we will work with you to find just the right adventure. We encourage everyone to get out there and challenge themselves by doing something they never thought they'd do....To let their Pigs Fly!

Went on the 2 hour rafting trip on a very warm August day. While I had never been rafting before and felt a little intimidated, the trip was a lot of fun and safe!! The rapids on the Yellowstone at this time of year, we were told, are not nearly as big and fierce as earlier in the year. So we went through some smooth areas and some milder rapids, not as rough as I expected, but that is ok!! Great trip, great tour guide and a great time! The prices for the cd of pictures ($30 for 30 pictures) is kind of high, but we would NOT have left without them!!

We did a 2 hour raft trip and the one hour horseback ride and cowboy cookout. I'm not sure this was a package, we booked them both at different times. The raft left right from their location on the main strip in bustling downtown Gardiner, MT (heavy sarcasm). The trip down the Yellowstone was pretty tame in overall white-water rafting terms, but exactly what we wanted with our 6 year old on his first trip. He got to sit in the middle for a bit, and then paddled some while one of the other passengers sat on the front. They gave us splash tops and shoes to rent, kept our stuff safe while we went, and the whole trip was about 2 hours. Fun.

That night we drove up to their horseback-riding outfitter partner ranch. The drive up took about 30 minutes, and it went waaaay up the hills. I was a little skeptical, but once we got up to Hells a Roarin ranch, wow, awesome. The cowboys and staff were really friendly, the lodge/cabin and facilities were terrific. The horses were not hard to ride for beginners, but not too tame that you couldn't actually steer them off the butt in front of them. My son is almost 7 and took his first ride. He rode up front with the trail leader. The trail riders were terrific, and they sang country/western/australian songs after dinner, which was delicious.

The only drawback to the whole thing was the fire ban, which was in effect for most of the watershed. Though there's nothing they can do about that, it would be nice if they would tell you that is in effect when you book, since the whole "dinner round the roaring campfire" thing is a big part of the draw of the cowboy cookout. We still would have done it and would go again.

We chose the "saddle and paddle" package with horseback in the morning and rafting in the afternoon. Have to say it was the only guided part of our vacation and we are all glad we chose these outfitters. The guides were well versed and informative. The safety portions of the trips were detailed and concise. The rafting guide did an awesome job of getting us to interact with the other family in our boat. The scenery was amazing and would recommend this to anyone traveling there. They made a c available with photos from the trip and we have shown it to friends since we got back. They fed us on the mountain after the horse ride. They had water shoes and splash shirts available for the rafting adventure which made my wife much warmer when she "fell" in. I took my camera and got good pictures.

We chose the all day rafting adventure. It was my 10 year old grandson and husband's first rafting trip. It was ideal for a first time out. The guide was knowledgeable and patient. There were 8 in the raft including the guide. He took the te to allow my grandson and a couple of other young folks to ride up front and jump in the river. Lunch was included and it was very filling with salads, make your own sandwiches, fruit, cookies, chips and a drink. The guides are very safety conscious and take the time to explain what to do. Everyone gets to paddle periodically making it loads of fun. The price was reasonable for all that you received. Great place.

The Flying Pig is the way to go! We went on the 8 mile ride and had a blast with Amber as our guide! She (and all the others) are full of energy and fun! We even did the 9:00am. trip and had the river to ourselves, plus a few fishermen! Awesome! Our teenage boys loved it as well, and would go again! If you want to have a really great ride, the only way to raft down the Yellowstone River is with the great people from the Flying Pig! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
