Owner description: Celebrating all things Yellowstone, the Flying Pig Adventure Company makes planning a vacation to Yellowstone easy. One call and you can set up anything from a quick float down the river to a complete vacation that includes lodging and an awesome activity package. Our activities include White water or Scenic Rafting, Horseback Rides, Fly Fishing, Park Tours and even shopping at our Camp Store. Above all else, we are best known for our friendly staff and excellent customer service. We love sharing the adventures of the Yellowstone area with our guests...And it shows! Many years ago, the Flying Pig got its start with whitewater rafting, and that is still the premier event today. Thousands of people have enjoyed our 8 Mile, 18 Mile and Overnight Rafting Trips on the Yellowstone River. We have awesome guides and our own private river access. In addition to whitewater trips, we also offer scenic floats for those who want to sit back, relax and soak in the views. Looking for a true Montana experience at a horse ranch? The Flying Pig offers horseback rides at a beautiful privately-owned alpine ranch just a few miles above town. The fun continues inside Yellowstone Park with Park Tours and Fly Fishing. In fact, we can take you fishing in some of the best trout rivers and streams in North America. We have also expanded to a second store location at 204 Park Street in Gardiner, where we offer a full complement of camping, hiking, fishing and apparel. Looking to experience Yellowstone first hand? Want to try something new? Give us a call and we will work with you to find just the right adventure. We encourage everyone to get out there and challenge themselves by doing something they never thought they'd do....To let their Pigs Fly!

The Flying Pig is the way to go! We went on the 8 mile ride and had a blast with Amber as our guide! She (and all the others) are full of energy and fun! We even did the 9:00am. trip and had the river to ourselves, plus a few fishermen! Awesome! Our teenage boys loved it as well, and would go again! If you want to have a really great ride, the only way to raft down the Yellowstone River is with the great people from the Flying Pig! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go horseback riding and rafting with this company - but DO NOT stay at the ranch. While it may look like a good idea because the surrounding mountains are so preety, but don't stay. The tent cabins have no restrooms so you must use the 2 restrooms in the ranch house. We were never given towels to use. Ranch hands use the same bathrooms, so there was a pair of dirty boxers on the toilet and a p_blic hair on the hand soap. They treat you like you don't belong, very uncomfortable. No breakfast.

The ranch hands were nice while horseback riding and rafting on the yellowstone river was great.

Booked a two-hour horseback ride for two adults and a child. Ride was fine (although seemed "sub-contracted" to another business operating out of a ranch outside Gardiner). The main problem is that they refuse to give you a written receipt for your transaction; they only e-mail it to you, claiming that their receipt is too long to print (9 pages!!!). The next morning, when we checked our e-mails and confirmed that we had not received our receipt, we went back and spoke to "Mollie". She repeated that they couldn't print it and instead e-mailed it again. I asked to use their computer to check my e-mails, but this was refused on the basis that their network was "protected". She told me to go to a coffee shop two doors down to check my e-mails but that network was also protected. Great customer service! A nice fellow from that shop gave me their password and it turns out that we never got the first receipt sent the day of the horse ride and would never have gotten one had we not returned.

Is that such a huge deal? Well, more or less. When you spend $172 on a service, you typically want a receipt to verify your account. So if a client requests a written receipt at the time of handing their credit card over (as opposed to an e-mailed one which you may never get), create a normal version of it (not a 9 page long one) and print it promptly. And don't give them a hassle for such a simple request. I wasn't asking for the moon. Bad service. End of story.

We went on the 18 mile raft trip in early July--it was great fun!! We were so glad we opted for the 18 over the 8 mile, as ours included several more rapids, as well as lunch. Our guide, Matt was excellent--very skilled, professional, quite knowledgable about all facets of the river, and had a great sense of humor. We highly recommend this!!

What an amazing day we had with Flying Pig Adventure Company!! We drove from Big Sky early that morning to meet up with Brogan and Jeremy at the Fling Pig Adventure store in Gardiner. We really had no idea what kind of day we were in for and it was such a wonderful surprise! First of all the telephone conversation with Steve sealed the deal with using this company for our day trip. He was very knowledgeable and helpful in suggesting what would work best for our group. Then our fishing guides, Brogran and Jeremey were top notch - very laid back, knowledgable and easy to talk to.

The whole day was so much more than we expected! I can tell you that the description on their website does not do it justice - neither does the picture of Knox Lake! It was absolutely breathtaking! The trip was amazing - beautiful creeks, views of the mountains, lakes, snow drifts and so peaceful!

We also had two horse wranglers along with us that day and they were phenomenal with us on the horses. 3 out of our 4 had never ridden a horse! They really took the time to make sure we were set up properly and comfortable for the trip. We have two boys 8 and 10 and both did wonderfully on the horses!

The lake is something you just have to experience - I don't think words or pictures could ever do it justice! The water was an unbelievable turquoise color and so clear all at the same time. The boys had a blast in the floaters fishing with Brogran and my husband and I had a great time learning how to fly fish from Jeremy! He had his hands full because we are Georiga/Florida bass fishers and fly fishing is completely different! We each caught fish and before we knew it the day was gone and it was time to pack up and head back down.

To say that this was the highlight of our trip and something we will never forget would be an understatement. It was worth every dime we spent and would do it again in heart beat! Thank you so much Flying Pig Adventure Company for a life long family memory!
