When you walk in this place (either from the restaurant side just east of the saloon side) or the saloon side, you may not expect much. Check your disappointments at the door. This restaurant is a real surprise. My partner had the bone-in rib eye one night and the NY Strip the other night. I had the grilled chicken with pesto & gorgonzola sauce - both meals were out of this world delicious. My partner who knows his beef, said it was some of the best beef he's ever had - juicy, tender and cooked exactly as he requested. My chicken was juicy and very tasty with the sauce and julienne vegetables. We could tell that much effort had been made to offer and serve a very tasty meal.
On the decor: this is the oldest saloon in Gardiner, which may not be saying much, but there's lots of history on the walls and in the decor. It's fun to look at and see everything while you're waiting for your delicious meal.
On Friday and Saturday nights, they provide a live band in back for dancing - country style of course! Gardiner is 5 miles north of Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone, so this is an easy trek for a great meal.
