The pizza selections at the KBar are inventive and delicious! We tried the Crazy Woman and the Trail Fire...so good! The staff is warm and friendly, the beer is local (and cold), and the pizza is great. Try this place - you won't be disappointed.

Our family of four chose KBar because it was very close to our B&B and our boys were craving pizza after a week of ranch food! We were not disappointed and we were particularly impressed with the service. Not only was our waitress timely and attentive, but the bartender went above and beyond! From the east coast, my husband had no idea which local beer to choose, and when he asked the bartender, the latter pulled out three small glasses and offered my husband samples to see what he would like. Sounds simple, but no one had ever done that before! My husband certainly found a beer to his liking and enjoyed it with our dinner.

It turns out that our dinner there was our 18th anniversary, and we laughed at how, here we were, 18 years later, eating a cheese pizza with our two sons at an outdoor table, within view of a laundry mat close by where are clothes were drying (hey, we could just eat a little, walk across and check clothes, and come back!). Not exactly romantic, but when that great bartender walked out to check on us and the other table next to us, he reported that a patron was paying the bills of everyone currently eating at the restaurant, we realized that it was turning into a very special evening! What a memorable meal in a neat little town at the end of our western vacation.

We'd go back -- and definitely pay the bill, too!

Being a lifelong New Yorker, pizza is on the top of my list of things I miss from back East - I've been living in Montana 8 years, and although I love it there are some issues - no same day dry cleaning, no decent bagels, no one can seem to cut luncheon meats "thin", no full service car washes, they don't seem to stock ricotta or mozzarella (or pronounce them correctly) anywhere, no good rye bread, no calzones, and very very crappy Chinese food - but at the top of the list, no pizza that tops Pizza Hut standards- until now! The K Bar in Gardiner makes pizza that would make a Jersey City pizzeria jealous. We went back three nights in a row (my entire family from East Coast willing to drive an hour for this dinner), crust think and crispy, perfect sauce, melting cheese just right ... try it. You'll remember what real pizza is. Thanks Chuck Tanner! Family friendly casual atmosphere, great waitresses and bartenders, appropriate for drinks with friends (or the heading-to-Sturgis bikers we met there), great après-rafting stop and okay if your shorts are still damp from the river, or relaxing regrouping stop on the way out of a day touring Yellowstone, a chance to exchange bison-sighting stories with the locals. Excellent visit!

Great atmosphere, great pizza. Thought I was back in NY. It is right outside the entrance to Yellowstone Park. We liked it so much we went there after a rafting trip and then again after a day in the park.

Our family of five decided to skip the park service food at Mammoth Springs and drove instead five miles to Gardiner. We walked around the small business district until we came upon KBar Pizza. It was a good decision.

Genuine western feel. Friendly people working there. Nice selection of regional craft beers. And really good pizza. Thin crust. New York style.

Good choice for the family. Not expensive.
