Located about 5 miles south of the Big Sky turnoff on Highway 191, the Corral Bar and Steak House is a local favorite. www.corralbar.com. The food is excellent -- steaks are to die for. We had a Buffalo Rib Eye that was truly memorable and worth every penny. Dinners include choice of a plentiful salad bar or soup, potato or rice pilaf. The hamburgers, including a buffalo burger, are huge and delicious. The homemade smoked trout, served with capers, red onions, and a special cream cheese with crackers, is amazing. The restaurant was very family friendly, and the staff is warm and welcoming. To top it all off, try the Mud Pie -- a gigantic concoction of coffee ice cream, caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, oreo cookie, and whipped cream that easily feeds a family of five. Great beers on tap, an impressive wine list. A terrific, reasonably priced All-American Restaurant with great quality away from the tourist traps of Big Sky.
