The ranch and its owners and staff helped restore my faith in the American people -- hard working, honest, customer service driven, simplistic but effective and tasteful. I told Kurt, the owner, as much when we were departing. We will return to the ranch some day, without a doubt. We truly felt like part of an extended family. Cabins were clean and cozy, and the food was excellent, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner. But in the matters of priority, we were their to ride horses for the first time in our lives -- me, wife, college age daughter, and high school son. The ranch and their wranglers/guides excel in this regard. They know what they're doing and it shows in the quality and calmness of the horses. My son was intent on not riding at all before we arrived, and within a couple hours of seeing the professionalism and expertise of the staff and their instructions to us, he was on a horse joining us for a half day ride and rode the rest of our stay. These are hospitable people who make you feel welcome, starting with Melissa and Curt. They'll converse with you over coffee before breakfast, at the lunch table, out by the fire pit, wherever. So if you more prefer the "anonymous" side of the vacation spectrum, you may want to seek alternative larger, less personal ranches. But I suspect you will be missing the essence of what their life and passion is all about, and we will cherish that piece of the trip for a long, long time. Btw, I don't write reviews, I only read them. For our CWR stay, I gladly made an exception.
