“Interesting history”

This was part of our trolley tour and we noticed other people who had paid to look out on the Pit were hanging around listening to our tour guide. He was great!

“Must see”

This is a hugh pit with lots of self guided displays to help you understand significance. It is also on the trolley stop. We just drove there and enjoyed viewing the historical mining pit.

Enjoyed seeing the pit where open mining was done in Butte, Montana . The staff at this attraction were most friendly, and the price was not bad also

“Well, it's the Pit ;)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 25, 2012

This is one of those places tht you have to go to understand the history of the mining in Butte and in seeing it closer your able to see just how large it is. This isn't a place you needs to spend hours at, but it's worth a visit and you learn a lot in under an hour.

“Finally visited the ol' Pit.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2012

The largest body of contaminated water in the world. Wow. Let's pay to see that. I finally forked over the $2 they want to see the pit, and left chuckling. It was a fun trip actually, in the same way the Potato Museum in Blackfoot, ID is. One of those quirky, "they make you pay for this?" things, that leave you wanting to tell all your friends, "hey! Guess what we did!" Is it worth your money? No. But maybe the check-in on facebook is.
