Enjoyed seeing the pit where open mining was done in Butte, Montana . The staff at this attraction were most friendly, and the price was not bad also

Thank Madelon

This is one of those places tht you have to go to understand the history of the mining in Butte and in seeing it closer your able to see just how large it is. This isn't a place you needs to spend hours at, but it's worth a visit and you learn a lot in under an hour.

The largest body of contaminated water in the world. Wow. Let's pay to see that. I finally forked over the $2 they want to see the pit, and left chuckling. It was a fun trip actually, in the same way the Potato Museum in Blackfoot, ID is. One of those quirky, "they make you pay for this?" things, that leave you wanting to tell all your friends, "hey! Guess what we did!" Is it worth your money? No. But maybe the check-in on facebook is.

Visited the Berkeley Pit during the Montana Folk Festival. It was interesting to see how the Pit had filled with water since the Anaconda Company closed and stopped pumping the water. I don't think they should charge an admission fee to see a hole filled with dirty water.
