Going-To-The-Sun Inn & Suites

Great hotel to find at end of long day driving. We planned trip next day to Going to the Sun Road. Not much accommodation in the area and in very short time after our arrival motel was totally booked out. Staff were pleasant and helpful.Traditional low-set motel style layout with one long verandah outside rooms and free car parking in front. We had a comfortable room, quite spacious with mini-frig, recliner chair and small dining table and 2 chairs. Exceptionally clean and air-conditioned. A minimal free breakfast provided at reception area. Juice, Tea or coffee and fruit or pastries to take back to room.
We bought dinner from a nearby Hamburger Diner but there is an amazing Grocery store in Browning. Looks very new, Family Choice or similar and had everything to do with food and groceries and an exceptional wine and alcohol section. The large range of fruits and vegetables available were beautifully presented and packaged. The Deli section had tables and chairs in front and people seemed to be having an early dinner there. A lot of things were prepared and packaged for immediate consumption. Best grocery store I have ever seen anywhere. Staff were pleasant and helpful also. Gentleman at Wine & Alcohol section was very passionate and knowledgeable about his stock which I think would have been at home in grand hotel cellars or establishments. Very extensive, impressive range.
Next door to the hotel was a Native Indian Trader Store with wonderful local items and souvenirs and another Trading Store was a 5 minute walk down the road. Great to just browse in or buy very affordable and different things at. Browning is a very interesting and unusual town and it was wonderful to have visited such a unique place and the Western Motel was a lucky find and ensured a perfect stay.

Look. This is not the Ritz. You want the Ritz you go to Missoula, or farther. This is a little motel in a little town, a long way from anywhere you know about.

That said, these folks are trying and the results are perfectly acceptable. The room is not large but it's not cramped, either. It is clean. The people are helpful and they are trying to do a good job. We stayed here three nights (exploring Glacier and vicinity in late Sept.) and were perfectly comfortable. (Well, Saturday night in Browning is loud: lots of liquor and sirens and shouting. But none of that reflects on this nice, little motel.)

The ice bucket Janelle S missed is available in the office. Just ask. It's full and cold. WiFi works. Bring your own Kleenex.

We sat on out front and watched the moon rise and drank Scotch. Then we slept warm and comfortable. What more do you want?

Note: Do NOT be put off by the town. Much of it looks like a slum. This motel anchors a little strip (including a gift shop, burger joint, car wash, and gas station) that are clean and perfectly fine. Coffee at the gas station is better than you would expect!

Stayed here after spending the day in Glacier. Not much in this town. The motel was clean and comfortable. Internet connection was poor. Room did not have some simple things such as an ice bucket or Kleenex. If you have a choice, I would spend the extra to stay in Glacier. The couple that runs this is trying but
Rooms are way overpriced.

Good WiFi, great TV, nice refrigerator, clean room and nicely decorated. Clean exterior, Friendly staff. Not much to see in a one horse town (no pun intended). Pricey due to location to Glacier National Park

This is not even a Super 8 by any stretch of the imagination. The room was supposed to be wheelchair accessible, though there was not enough room to get by the bed to go to the washroom. Good enough though for one night's decent sleep. We were not bothered by vagrants as mentioned in another review. Large tv!

Room Tip: Check out the room first!

First of all, this ain't the Hilton, but certainly you can get a good nights rest at the Western Motel. Overall, the place feels a little tired, but management seems to be in the process of slowly upgrading the hotel. Best thing of all was the TV in our room, we're talking a brand new 50" flat screen here, which we haven't seen in any other hotel we stayed at over the last 3 month. Even the shampoo was some nice organic stuff. Check-in staff was super friendly and helpful.

Only thing to complain about was the price, which was a little high for what you get, but then with no competition you cant really blame them. our score is a solid 3 out of 5. Once the renovations are completed it will be a 4 or 5.

This cute motel is in a absolutely awful town. Its cute, probably cleanest place in this whole town, looks out of place. I will never go back here because I will never go back to this town. But about the motel. We were able to park our bike right in front of our window which we slept with it open so we could hear anyone out there. Staff was nice. No coffee in room, and I hate that. Went down to get coffe and pot was low so I got a cup and went back down later, still no coffee kid working there just sat there. Came back again still no coffee. Coffee issue pisses me off. I like to be lazy in the mornings when we r on vacation, lay around and have a cup. Rooms are small, Flat screen tvs with lots of channels. Clean.
