We enjoyed our stay at the Howlers Inn. It is a lovely Inn, beautiful situated outside of Bozeman and nicely maintained. The hospitality is excellent and we loved learning about the wolves. You can see their activity from the Inn and deck. Highly recommend!

Howlers Inn is an amazing sanctuary for both wolves and humans. The innkeepers are welcoming and professional, yet warm and hospitable. The Inn is beautiful, but the setting is the star of the show! Situated in a lovely valley ringed by mountains, it is peaceful and rejuvenating. Our room overlooked the wolf habitat and we were able to hear their howls in the night. The breakfasts were delicious and served with care.
What an amazing introduction to Montana. We were thrilled.

Room tip: Ask for a room with a view of the wolves.

The Inn is beautiful maintained and the wolves and obviously well taken care of. We got to pet Koa which was literally a life long dream. I just moved to Montana and wanted to find the most "Montanan place to stay" and this was certainly it!

Room tip: The Southern and South West rooms have the most incredible views and we could hear the wolves howl in the morning!

We enjoyed our stay at Howlers. The property is in a beautiful location not far from the interstate. They currently have 3 adult wolves in the enclosures and the pup, Koa, who is recovering from an injury and living with the owners until able to go back out with Shasta. It was fun to hear them howling in the morning, greeting each other after their sleep. Our room, the western room, was spacious and clean. Unfortunately the jets in the tub weren’t working, so we just used the shower, which was a little challenging to climb into but certainly manageable. We enjoyed the double sink vanity and plenty of space to spread out. The house has lots of decks and areas where you can sit and watch the wolves, or just enjoy the beautiful scenery.
We were arriving a bit later than usual check in time since our flight into Billings was a little delayed, then we had tire trouble with our rental. I called to let them know what time we’d be arriving and were told to take our time (very nice, and they appreciated my calling). When we arrived, right at the time I said we would, there was no one around. We rang the bell several times, knocked on the door, walked in and called out - nothing. We weren’t even sure we were in the right place, and unfortunately walked right into the guest house thinking maybe that was where we were supposed to go. Finally someone came out and greeted us (about 15 minutes later), and the owner (husband) showed us around and gave us a tour. We never met his wife - I think I said hello to her in the kitchen one morning, but she never introduced herself so I’m not sure. We mainly dealt with the husband’s mom, Charlene, who made our breakfasts and took payment at checkout. Her breakfasts were very good and she was very pleasant.
Parking was a little tight, and be prepared for stairs.

This was our second visit, having previously stayed three years ago. The visit was tinged with sadness as the place has changed hands and two of the wolves (Comanche and Sekani) have died. However the new owners are very nice and there is a gorgeous wolf pup called Koa (who is currently sleeping in the owners bedroom!). The new owners have built a deck outside the kitchen which is an excellent idea and allows all guests to observe the wolves peacefully. This time we had the western room which is huge and very well appointed with a better bathroom than the southwestern room.
I would love to return again and I feel attached to the personalities of these wonderful creatures.

Room tip: the southwestern room has a direct view onto the wolves, the western has a view but a sloped roof in front.
