“Out of the way but worth getting there”
Reviewed July 5, 2011

I went to Emerson Grill with a client on his recommendation, hard to find but a great local menu. It appears to be in the back of a old school or something like that a couple of blocks from the old downtown area, you can eat in or outside.

I opted for the Capelini Pesto on angel hair, the client went for the rib eye. Both of us had the Tomato Bisque. Good bread, good meal not overly priced in my opinion.

Wine or beer only no hard liquor. I will defineatly visit again the next trip through town.

“Wonderful meal again”
Reviewed June 14, 2011

We were here last August and had such a great meal we returned and were not disappointed. The Rib eye and Pork Chop Entrees surperb! Service great-no rush. Will come back again and highly recommend this resturant to any MSU parents looking for a date night out while visiting campus.

“Wll not be going back”
Reviewed February 12, 2011

Five of us ladies from Bozeman who were looking forward to a nice, relaxed meal and catching up with one another recently had dinner at the Emerson Grill. We all enjoyed the ambience, great food, wine and desert. After paying our bill (around $175.00) and leaving a 20% tip we were asked to leave our table (while a few were still sipping the last of their wine) because other customers had been waiting 45 minutes for the table. If this statement was true, it meant that the restaurant had allotted 90 minutes for our meal. When a couple of us mentioned to the wait person that we have never been asked to leave a restaurant anywhere and that we were not pleased being asked to do so, she looked at us and said, “you can go and sit in the foyer.” As we left and stood outside of the restaurant door another worker came out to apologize and said “there was a misunderstanding,” when in fact there was no misunderstanding. If the policy of the Emerson is to limit the time at a table this should be made clear when reservations are made. Unfortunately, we were all very disappointed at the treatment we received and will not be going back. The owner may wish to know that at least 5 couples who have frequented the Emerson over the years have been lost.

“Flavorful Food”
Reviewed November 11, 2010

This was my first time to the Emerson Grill, and I loved the romatic yet casual atmosphere. We got a free appetizer coupon so we ordered the grilled calamari, which was surprisingly good and very fresh tasting. For dinner I got the special - butternut squash and spinach lasagne with roasted brussel sprouts. The flavors were perfect - creamy, buttery, and italian seasoning. It was awesome! Service was great and friendly, but a little on the slow side. The only drawback were the prices. That is the main reason I wouldn't go back. Everything is $15 and up. Overall I suggest trying it at least once.
