“Very pleased with this affordable, outdated, clean motel”
Reviewed August 22, 2014

Yes, this is certainly an older & somewhat outdated hotel. We had a suite that included a living room with futon, small table, and TV, plus a separate bedroom with two queen beds (with the bathroom attached). The suite had plenty of space and very clean -- as was the pool although we didn't use it. The AC's were a bit loud and didn't work too well, and the furnishings could use some updating. We only stayed for one night, before our flight out of Bozeman. The location was great -- easy to find on a major road through town with plenty of restaurants nearby. The man at the front desk was friendly. Continental breakfast was available but we ate elsewhere because we wanted a big meal just prior to our noon-ish flight. If I came back to the Bozeman area, I'd certainly stay here again.

The Rainbow is a bit older place with smaller rooms but everything worked, was very clean and the bed was great. Although close to a main road our room was quiet. Staff was very friendly and helpful and the coffee was great. A good deal.

It is very outdated. The furniture was uncomfortable as well as the bed. The air conditioner didn't cool the room cool down the room completely and was noisy. If you just need to spend the night it's ok. It was inexpensive.

Just needed a place to sleep while visiting family during the peak of tourist season and didn't want to spend a lot of $ that the other places were charging. It's an older motel with some updates, but most importantly the room was VERY clean! The price was decent and they also have a complementary breakfast bar. If you just need a home-base while staying in Bozeman, this works very well. The only two negatives are that when we were trying to sleep, the room above us on the second floor was very creaky and squeaky when they walked around and the icemaker was next door to us as well.

Room Tip: Stay away from the icemaker and possibly get a second floor room.

For a hundred dollars a night we did not get a room with a working air conditioner, we had to pack up everything and moved to a back room the size of a postage stamp, the bathroom shower would not drain, I had to use the plunger myself to get it done, Staying here almost wrecked our vacation.... Stay away

We stayed here for a week and loved it. There is no doubt that this is a basic motel. The rooms are simply furnished, the walls are made of painted breeze-blocks, and there are no frills. But it is as clean as can be (sparkling, literally) and it is run by the friendliest people you will meet.

We found the bed to be comfortable and the room a nice place to be. The shower had nice water pressure and was, like the rest of the room, very clean. Also, the motel provides breakfast - coffee, fruit, doughnuts, and some other bits and pieces such as cereals.

Most importantly, it is very centrally located. This place is a ten-minute walk from the center of Bozeman - perfect if you plan to sink a few pints of local beer with dinner. We almost never used our car except when venturing out of town.

We will definitely stay here whenever we are in Bozeman. It isn't fancy, but it is a great bargain and well worth the stay.

I give this a 5 star because of value for the buck. For $55/night you can't beat it. We stayed here last fall for 2 nights, and again this weekend (5/15-5/16).
We chose this last fall because it is one of 2 hotels in the area that still boasts an outdoor pool!
Frank and staff are friendly and accommodating, the rooms clean, small, and I don't know which room 'MTgolfer31' stayed in, but we have stayed in 3 different rooms and all were amazingly quiet, and I am VERY picky about noisy rooms. (The new LaQuinta across the way failed miserably in the quiet room dept.) this time we stayed in 117 and again, we're satisfied. You can tell it's an older motel....one of Bozeman's originals. You can't beat it for $55!

Room Tip: The rooms farthest from the highway preferred.
