“Well kept and professional museum”
Reviewed January 31, 2014

Since moving to Bozeman MT several years ago, I have visited Museum of the Rockies 4 times. Each of these times, I have enjoyed that the museum has changing exhibits so it is never the same museum of twice. I am not a big museum person (they just don't ever really seem to excite me), however, I have heard from individuals who really enjoy visiting museums that Museum of the Rockies is very nice. The planetarium was probably my favorite part of the visit (each of the 4 times that I have visited); the planetarium was recently remodeled and is very nice. They do have a section of the museum which is geared towards young children and has a room filled with hands on exhibits for the little ones to touch and play with as much as they would like. I did thoroughly enjoy this interactive play space when I brought 2 boys that I nanny. With all this said, the Museum of the Rockies is a nice museum, but I do not visit often as museums are not really my thing. I do highly recommend this as a nice tourist attraction however if you are new to Bozeman, just visiting Bozeman, or are looking for something to do on a rainy day. The Bozeman Public Library also has free passes to the museum that can be reserved by library card holders/Bozeman residents.

“Always Something New”
Reviewed January 17, 2014

This museum is not only partnered with the local university, but also with the Smithsonian and hundreds of other museums internationally. They have access to the most interesting and rare exhibits in the world. There is always something new and exciting whether it's mummies or the butterfly exhibit. Overall the planetarium is always really fun and intriguing for all ages.

“A Gem of a Museum in a Montana City”
Reviewed January 17, 2014

Three things impressed us about this museum: its dinosaur exhibit, its Yellowstone room and its planetarium shows. You also may want to catch the exhibits on the earth’s crust formation as they relate to Montana. We visited in December when the hours were 9-5 Monday-Saturday and 12:30-5:00 on Sunday. The hours are longer between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Admission: $14; for 8-18 year-olds-$10; discounts for seniors.
