“disappointing decline”
Reviewed November 24, 2012

We have always looked forward to brunch or lunch at Nova as one of the highlights of frequent visits over the past ten years, but our recent experience there showed a decline in both the quality and presentation of the food. There were 8 adults in our family group (all return customers) and everyone pronounced their orders as "OK" but not the exceptionally tasty and plentiful food we have had over the years. My order of eggs/sausage/homefries/toast looked skimpy on the plate and none of the ingredients except the (single) piece of toast was anything better than what you would get in a very ordinary diner. The eggs were pallid, the sausages tiny and charred, the homefries small pieces of pale potatoes. This is such a contrast to how vibrant the food used to be here, and all the various orders in out group evoked the same reaction. I don't know if there has been a change in ownership or in the kitchen, but the change in the food has been a big disappointment.

“Funky atmosphere, innovative food”
Reviewed November 14, 2012

There is an excellent selection on the menu from onlettes, to burgers at lunch time. I was unable to order a soft drink and I don't drink coffe, so it was disappointing to only have water as an option. I orderd a "hash" plate that had ham, bacon and sausage tossed with home fries and tomoates with a smattering of cheese on top. Tasty, but really needed more "oomph" to blend the flavors. The buffalo burger was cooked to order and very juicy, Special reauests were honered and service was attentive. My go to dish for juding breakfast is biscuits and gravy. Nova Cafe has a great biscuit foundation, tender yet crisp enough to hold up to the gravy. The gravy was sweet instead of peppery and the sausage flavor wasn'y present, although you could see sausage in the gravy. Overall, a good dining experience.

“disappointed”
Reviewed November 11, 2012

Went for a Saturday brunch about 12:30. Not busy but waitress was inattentive. My food was barely luke warm. Would have been really good if it had been hot.

“Worth the Wait”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

The only problem with Nova is that it's SO popular that on a weekend, forgettaboutit, getting in. Wait in a long line. This is the best breakfast in Bozeman. The dishes are superb, the menu a delight in its diversity, the service excellent and they have gluten-free pastries. The sausages are to die for. Do not miss this place if you are in Bozeman and want a great breakfast that isn't like plastic poo from Perkins.

“Best breakfast in Bozeman”
Reviewed October 26, 2012

I have been to Nova probably 4 times now, 3 times for breakfast and once for lunch. All 4 meals have been great. Menu is creative and has a very nice variety. There are always a handful of daily specials too. I like the concentration on local products. I wouldn't go anywhere else in Bozeman for breakfast.
