“O.K. for one night.”
Reviewed June 15, 2007

This hotel is located in the heart of downtown Billing. It is an old motel that changed ownership about two years ago and current ownership is trying hard to renovate and upgrade it.

My wife and I spent one night here and everything was acceptable. Our room with two queen-size beds was in the newest renovated area. Renovation appeared to be as much as could possibly be done. Our room was large. Our beds were comfortable. Carpeting and furniture were new. Walls were newly repainted bright yellow.

Our tub and toilet were in the enclosed bathroom. The sink was just outside the bathroom and had a very large countertop. We had plenty of towels but they were poor quality. Everything was very clean. And our room was quiet

The staff was very accomodating. The young lady who checked us in recommended Jake's Steak House, just a block away, for dinner and it was excellent. The hotel does not have a restaurant and does not serve breakfast, but there is a bakery directly next door which is very popular with guests.

Wireless Internet in our room worked fine and a computer is also set up in the lobby for guest use.

But some characteristics of an old, moderate quality hotel still remain. Access to all rooms where our room was located is from the outside. Parking is under the rooms, with an elevator directly to the floors with rooms. The parking area also has direct open access to a side street. Signs in the parking area told guest not to leave anything of value in their cars. This layout made both of us somewhat uneasy about our safety and the security of our car and contents.

Overall, everything was O.K. for our overnight stay.

  • Liked — Clean. Quiet. Good beds.
  • Disliked — Location. Parking layout. No breakfast.

The new owner has done a great job of taking an older property that was showing her age and making it a comfortable and inviting place to stay. The guest rooms have been completely remodeled and updated with new furniture, linens and amenities. The staff is courteous. The price is reasonable. It is a great downtown location. Our stay was better than expected based on previous experience. I would definately reccommend the Clock Tower Inn..

  • Liked — Guest rooms are now a WOW. Comfortable and updated.
  • Disliked — Slow elevators--Stairs were easy though

This hotel is not as bad as I thought it would be after reading reviews. My husband was moved here after another hotel by the metra lost our confirmed reservations. WE stayed by the pool , which at this time of year was ok because not many using the pool to make it loud. There are a lot of other hotels I would persoanlly stay instead of this one, but becasue it was a bad expierence.

Stayed here for one night in mid August. Room was clean and tidy and what you would expect from a Best Western. I certainly didn't have any problems with noise and the hotel was nearly full. Nice pool and a reasonable complimentary breakfast. Nice rates as well. Shame about Billings itself though !!

Same old shoddy construction as your average mom and pop motel but at twice the price! Listened to my neighbour's noisy aircon for half the night, and to my other neighbour's plumbing at 6am (not their fault - walls are cardboard). Why don't my American friends demand higher standards? Plus I was given one of the few rooms right by a busy road even though the place was less than half full. Free breakfast is good, though, and room clean. Very convenient downtown location.

The walk-in rate was $19 dollars higher per night than the lowest rates found on the internet. The room we were given was terrible for a lot of reasons & should only be used if it's the last room in town. It was located directly above the office, on a very busy one way with the bus station and womens/childrens shelter out our window along with a mechanics gargage. It was so noisey at night that little sleep was had. The bed was placed near the window where the "room darkening" drapes allowed quite a bit of light through the top because they were mounted too far away from the window casing. The configuration of the room was mostly inconvienent. The coffee table in front of the couch was in the direct path to the bathroom from the bed. We ended up putting it on top of the couch at night. The top sheet was too small for the bed and the mattress pad ended up all bunched up and annoying by morning. The water for the shower was never consistant. Hot to hotter then cool then hot again. CRAZY!! The outlet for coffee, blow dryer etc...was covered by the towel rack (when in use is a fire hazard) and one of the outlets worked intermittently so I had to plug things in one at time. Huge waste of time & annoying. It was quite the trek to the continental breakfast. Outside, through the garage, elevator or up 2 flights of stairs. Very basic breakfast foods. Nothing to brag about. Lessons in customer service are desparetly needed here. The gal was none too friendly & started slamming things around in disgust when I noticed that we didn't get the reduced rates. She said that it would take her all morning to redo our bill so she refused to do it. There's more but I'll spare you any more details about our terrible experience.
