“Nice overnight stop on our cross country trip!”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

We stayed here on the way to taking our daughter to university. It was a pleasant stop with a good breakfast to start us off. Even though we arrived late, the reception staff was very friendly and got us quickly set up for our room. We were given all the particulars before we went to our room--hours for breakfast, how to use the internet, pool and fitness room hours, etc. My one quibble was that the eggs were those pre-formed 'omelets' folded in half with a piece of half melted American cheese in the middle. I would have preferred real eggs. They also stated that there was bacon, when in fact it was really just slices of warmed up pre-packaged ham. I wish restaurants realized that this is really an important meal of the day and to not skimp--even for the basics. Otherwise it is a great stop across America. Because it's just off the interstate, there is a little road noise which can be easily addressed by requesting a room away from the busy street. This place was packed when we arrived, so it must be a real stopping point for a lot of people--or maybe it was all those people traveling home from the Sturgis Rally?!

Room Tip: Request a room away from the busy street to afford a quiet night's rest.

This was our first visit to a Carlson hotel. We were on a cross country trip, nearing the end. We wee very tired, and this hotel was a wonderful place to stop. The price was excellent for a room like this. It was a king bedroom, off a sitting room with a pull out sleeper. There was a fridge and microwave also. It was very clean, the bed was very comfortable and the service was friendly and helpful. I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.

As good stops are hard to plan during a long road trip Montana, we were happy to be able to secure a reservation at the highly rated Country Inn & Suites in Billings. We were even more enthusiastic when we read the raves regarding the breakfasts on TripAdvisor. Unfortunately, Country inn & Suites has fallen to the temptation of cost reduction. The juice appeared to be the "Juice Blend" made from Grade B- oranges, the eggs seemed to be reconstituted from powder, and the bacon was tasteless, no doubt of the lowest quality. Worse of all, the melon was apparently spoiled having been put out in the wee hours by the front desk staff. This was a Sunday morning. Perhaps the melon was from the previous morning. Sorry to report that an otherwise excellent property in the class provided such a disappointment.

We stayed here while visiting a friend in town. The hotel was easy to find and parking was a breeze as well. Pros: great continental breakfast, clean rooms with nice travel size amenities, complimentary cookies and coffee in the lobby and very friendly and helpful staff. Also within walking distance to Applebees, a gas station, liquor store and coffee drive-thru. Cons: Our room faced the street so it was extremely noisy! Be sure to get a room on the opposite side. The indoor pool was nice, but bring your own towel. Their towels are super small and rough. The pool also had so much chlorine in it that it made me not want to swim for too long. Overall I would recommend this Inn if staying in that side of town, but only for a nice room and staff. The inn is right at a very busy intersection. So there is no view or peace and quiet.

We went for a quick getaway and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Country inn & Suites - Billings. From quick check-in, awesome breakfasts, fresh baked cookies at front desk (even at midnight when we got back from Montanafair!), this place made our visit to Montana GREAT!!

Stayed here for 1 night of our 3 week, 4000 mile, road trip round USA. This was the best of the 'chain' hotels on our trip - and the others were not too bad either. Everything about this place exceeded our expectations and you don't get a better measure of quality than that! Good rooms, well furnished, good friendly staff and great complimentary breakfast - everything you need for an overnight stay!
