“Good Lunch. Good Value.”
Reviewed November 26, 2013

We’d avoided eating at Red Lobster for a few years because of high prices and mediocre food and service (a combination that spells “poor value” to us) the last time we’d been there. But, some friends had recently told us about their great lunch specials, so, during a day of shopping, we stopped in at the Red Lobster. The décor was pleasantly nautical (as most Red Lobsters, I imagine) with pleasant and comfortable dark furniture. We were warmly greeted by our server, and were brought a basket of hot-from-the-oven cheddar bay biscuits. I’d forgotten about those, and they were definitely yummy. On to the menu, it was nice to have a tough time making a choice, because there were so many great options. Ultimately, the wood-grilled tilapia tacos, on the $7.99 lunch special grabbed me, and Michael got the crunchy fish sandwich. My lunch was extremely good, with fresh fish, cabbage, cilantro, tomatoes, corn tortillas and a little drizzle of sauce on the three tacos that arrived. It was complemented with a nice and tasty wild rice dish. Michael’s fish was similarly good, and arrived piping hot. I think the server missed an opportunity in not offering us a dessert (we might have split one), and just bringing the bill to the table when it appeared we were done. Of course, we certainly could have asked, but it just showed a lack of salesmanship.

One negative and in-general pet peeve for us – there were no prices on the drinks or the beer. Sometimes we will have a beer for lunch. We also enjoy margaritas, but our experience where the prices are not listed is (1) the drinks are very over-priced, and the restaurant is embarrassed (?) not to post them, or (2) we’ll ask the server the price, and s/he doesn’t know – because they just punch in the order at the POS, and, really, it’s been a tedious process (at other restaurants anyway) to find out the price of a drink.

But, back to Red Lobster. We will definitely be returning to try out some of the other lunch specials – and oh, the garlic and white wine mussels. Those seemed real appealing, and smelled wonderful, when the table next to us ordered them. But, we won’t be ordering drinks (unless you start to post your prices).

“A relaxing dinner”
Reviewed November 19, 2013

As we entered we were greeted and then led to a table of our choice brought us water and menues and asked if we wanted any thing else to drink besides water. Gave us plenty of time to pick out what we wanted to order. while we were waiting for our food they brought us fresh made biscuits that were very good. When the biscuits were gone and food had not arrived they brought us more fresh biscuits. The food came and was very good. What a large selection of seafood and steaks.to choose from. This is not the first time we have eaten their we go their about every time we make it to billings about every 3 months .

“Felons R Us”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

OK, besides the bisquit's which are like some kind of crack, Mediocre is what I would say. This place is OK. It does show the lack of great seafood restaurants in Billings, when it is ranked this high. Ignorance is bliss I guess. If you like being harassed by the felonious wait staff, go for it.

“Singles get placed in the bar”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

I was strongly encouraged to eat in the bar area as a single diner. Food was great (tilapia, rice pilaf, and hot veggies wrapped in parchment), but my greeting at the door was not impressive.
