We went here for a casual bar meal, and this review is based on expectations of what would be expected of such an experience- you don't expect silver service, but you do expect meals to be as advertised/ ordered, and arrive at the same time. We (a party of 6) were the only people eating at the time, and yet we had to wait over an hour for all our meals to arrive intact (one course only), with various false starts and cock ups along the way. Given this, and the frankly surly attitude of the waiter, we suggested that the tip that had been automatically and presumptuously added to the bill was not warranted. This led to a threat to call the police. All in all, a thoroughly unpleasant experience. Not recommended. This was a shame, particularly as we'd had such an enjoyable evening in another local restaurant, and had shown our appreciation accordingly when the bill came.

I have never eaten in a restaurant before where the service has been so lacklustre/negligent and yet no attempt at a concession was made. Instead we were threatened with house arrest if we dreamed of leaving without paying an additional 20% to the hapless chef and barman, whereas in most bars and restaurants you would be offered an actual reduction on the bill for such dreadful service. This was made worse by the threatening atmosphere when we tried to reason that paying an extra 20% was completely unreasonable. I'm afraid this bar has a threatening atmosphere to non-locals, which is a real shame as most of the people we met in bigfork were lovely. The owner might want to recognise that if they want a sustainable business a few locals propping up the bar heckling any outsiders won't wash.

We went here for our final dinner in Bigfork, having thoroughly enjoyed our short stay in what we had felt was a friendly and welcoming small town. Things started ok, with us sitting upstairs in the evening sunshine, and ordering six delicious sounding meals. However, an hour later, despite being the only dining customers in the place, we were still waiting for our food. Eventually, 4 of the meals arrived. However, one of the pizzas was missing the extra pepperoni we'd ordered and the goat's cheese that was supposed to be on it; the burger that had been ordered without cheese (due to an allergy) came with cheese, so had to be sent back; and the sides didn't arrive at all. We were then told that the chef had dropped one of the pizzas so it was having to be re-made. I asked where my meal was, only to be met with a completely blank look. So I re-ordered it and settled in for another 30 minute wait. By the time the replacement pizza, my meal and the 3 side salads arrived, everyone else had finished eating. The waiter did not appear in the least apologetic, saying that they'd had a busy day the day before. When we went downstairs to get and pay the bill, we were surprised to see that a 20% service charge had been added to it. We suggested that we shouldn't pay this, since 5 out of our 6 meals had been messed up, and we'd all ended up eating at different times. The waiter said he would call the cops unless we paid the full bill, and that he'd make sure we didn't get served anywhere else in Bigfork. A number of men at the bar joined in, generally creating a very threatening atmosphere (we are all female). So a very upsetting end to what had been a lovely stay in Bigfork. I would recommend that visitors eat at one of the other restaurants in town, for example at Bigfork Inn, where we'd had excellent food and superb service the night before, happily leaving a disgressionary 25% tip for our excellent waitress.

The kitchen got nearly every order wrong, refused to accept that they had missed things and brought out half the meals an hour later than the other half. The sides only arrived after the mains had been eaten. When we suggested that we shouldn't pay the 20% charge automatically added to the bill for service, they threatened to call the police and to make sure we didn't get served anywhere else in town. As we had enjoyed a wonderful meal the night before - and had left a hefty tip to show our appreciation - we felt this was an empty threat. Nevertheless, the whole experience has spoilt what was otherwise a lovely visit to Bigfork.
