Worn out, old, shabby, needs major updating. Unfair to sell rooms for this price. Checked in to a room with broken thermostat, broken blinds, noisy, total misrepresentation. Got moved to a new building, but still...if you don't know, you're now forewarned.

Great location, it is all about the mountain; The rooms are clean but certainly nothing fancy. Could really use a facelift. The hot tub is a long run across a cold deck away. Food is pretty basic. Staff is friendly.

We visited the Huntley Lodge in January 2013.
The staff and management were much more responsive to simple requests.
The breakfast was very good and I enjoyed the spa.
The room heaters need upgrading.

I spent several days here for a conference. The Huntley is one building in a whole complex. Some of the complex is beautiful and well kept. The actual rooms at the Huntley are are in very poor shape. I got to see two other rooms and they were all in similar shape. The floors in the hall flex as you walk down them. The rooms are dingy with beat up and broken furniture. Peeling paint and mold in the bathroom (see photo). The worst part is the noise. You can hear everything in the rooms around you and above you.

Room Tip: Stay at the Summit in the same complex. Much nicer.

My husband and I arrived yesterday to attend a conference. We've been here one and have five more to go. Where to begin? The room is in terrible shape. The window blinds are broken and missing at least two of the vertical blind panels. The furniture is falling apart; broken and cracked dresser drawers, bed headboards terribly nicked and the chairs at the tiny table are rickety. The bathroom light keeps going off when turned on due to a wiring short. The walls are paper thin. This morning we heard at least five alarm clocks going off from different rooms. The floor in the common hallway flexes as you walk. It was also after 4pm before housekeeping arrived to service our rom. And we had left at 7:30am. We are travelling with several others at this conference and all have similar complaints.

very nice hotel, great location, free breakfast great and with view of Lone Mountain. Comfortable beds, prompt service, no microwave in room but one just downstairs in vending machine area.
Frequent Sky card gets rooms half off when available- however 30% nonrefundable at time of booking and the remainder charged 30 days before visit- non refundable. So if the conditions are not good and you decide not to go you are out of luck, although they might let you change dates.

We stayed at the Huntley Lodge between Christmas & New Year's and had a great time. The accommodations are very basic but nice. The housekeeping is very friendly and our room was clean with no problems except a touchy thermostat! We booked the stay through the Big Sky Resort online reservation system and had a package which included the hotel, breakfast, and lift passes. The value is so-so, but we didn't think we'd get a "bargain" staying on the mountain.

The breakfast buffet is WONDERFUL. There are so many options, from hot food (omelets made to order, Belgian waffles, eggs), to cereals, bagels, fruit trays, that one should not go hungry. Get there early though as the lines grow closer to lift opening.

The lobby area of the Huntley (not the Shoshone, as they are connected) is nice a quiet, with a real fireplace to warm and relax which is continuously stocked with wood by the staff.

There is free ski storage also in the hotel and Mark, the man in charge of this area, is a wonderful host. All of the staff are very helpful and eager to answer questions.

If you like to knit or crochet or know someone who does, make sure to stop by the store CReations which has unique yarn.

We really enjoyed our trip to Big Sky and would recommend the Huntley.

Room Tip: We stayed on the first floor and it was somewhat annoying to listen to the boots clomp in the halls...
