Buck's T-4 seems primarily to be a snow lodge, but is open in summer also, for tourists who want to explore the Gallatin area, or passing through to or from Yellowstone.
It features good large rooms, not too modern, but having the charm of a wooden lodge. Our stay was comfortable and the included brekfast was good and served in a large room with space for everyone.
It was a little bit noisy though, sounds from the corridor or from the room above were very distinct in our room.
We were passing through to Yellowstone, and I am happy to have chosen Buck's T-4 to the overpriced chain motels in West Yellowstone.

Stopped in to check it out on way to Bozeman, seemed like just another lodge...but was I shocked!! The staff is sooo friendly and helpful, very clean and cozy!! Menu is out if this world!! By far best food I have ever eaten! Not the expected lodge food at all! High class 5 star quality food here and they make it themselves!! Totally reasonable prices! Very comfy bed and high quality linens!! Very eager to go back!!! Can't express how awesome this place is!!!!

Have been coming to Bucks T-4 over the past decade and will refuse to stay elsewhere when visiting Big Sky or West Yellowstone. Everything is top-notch - the room, the breakfast, the dinner, the bar, and most importantly, the people. They demonstrate superior service in a very relaxed environment. The wine cellar speaks for itself, but "Wine Spectator's" near annual recognition since 1996 proves its value. Every wine selection you chose will be superb here. The place is cozy - inside and out. Great outdoor fireplace with a view of the surrounding canyon mountains. World class fly fishing on the Gallatin River is but a few hundred yards away. Lone Peak at Big Sky is just a few miles drive, and West Yellowstone is less than an hour drive. I highly recommend this to most anyone; however, if you are East Coast posh with attitude looking for marble floors and wait staff wearing white gloves, tuxedos and gowns, please stay home. This place is not for you. Bring your jeans and fleece, and let the rest fall into place at Buck's T-4.

Room Tip: If you are family traveling with kids, ask for the suite. Very spacey and room to move.

This was an accidental find. We stayed 2 nights in the main lodge building while visiting Yellowstone. Surroundings were beautiful, and the room much nicer than the more pricey places nearer the park. Definitely worth the hour drive to the park. We would definitely stay there again. Full buffet breakfast was excellent and served in a roomy, family restaurant style building with plenty of seating, unlike any other complimentary hotel breakfast we have had. Dinner in the restaurant was superb. The hotel and restaurant staff were friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable about the area. They have been in business for a long time and they are definitely "doing it right"! Best hotel of our entire 11 night vacation trip.

Room Tip: All rooms in the main lodge building have at least half a flight of stairs from the lobby and there...

We were dead tired after touring Teton and Yellowstone and no availability in Bozeman. Expedia had this listed as gallatin Gateway location! It was not in Gallatin Gateway. Great place to stay if you exit west from Yellowstone! Big room with very comfortable queen beds. Bathroom is small and no elevators. It was only a few steps to our second floor room, but I would not have wanted to haul our "stuff" to third floor! Other buildings might have had elevators and carts! We were in office building and there were no carts or elevators. I give it a 5 star rating because Breakfast was better than home and room and furnishings were clean and comfortable and up to date!

We stayed here during our first vacation in Big Sky Montana. The hotel is cozy, rustic, comfortable and gives a warm environment. The beds/pillows were extremely comfortable, the service impeccable and the staff & management were very, very friendly and made me feel like I was home. The surroundings were beautiful and the food in the restaurant was first class dining. The free breakfast was like fine dining and the dinner even better!! There was 2 hot tubs that were very clean, gorgeous grounds and a stone fireplace outside that even in July was lit and perfect to be in front of! I will stay here again and again and recommend that everyone do so!

we selected this for price as it was a last minute trip and most of the hotels in West Yellowstone were pricey. We were visiting Yellowstone for the day on the way up to Banff and Jasper Canadian parks. I had forgotten to ask for handicapped and all rooms of that type were taken. they were able to get us a room with just a few steps which was nice, roomy and clean. The breakfast the next day which was inclusive had three hot choices which they rotate daily and much more variety than I have ever had in an inclusive breakfast in a hotel.. Customer service very nice and accommodating. Would definitely go back and recommend highly .
