“Close to skiing”
Reviewed December 7, 2012

Our room was newly remodeled and good sized for three skiers with all the luggage that goes with a ski trip. Clean, quiet room. I especially appreciated the the newer bedspread setups with sheets on bottom and top of comforter. No unwashed, cruddy bedspread. The full breakfast was good. The fridge and microwave in the room were nice to have. We wished we had brought the dog because there was a good place to walk him out back and the place is obviously dog friendly. We got a discount because of our Big Sky Frequent Ski Cards, otherwise it would have been pricey. We liked the big outdoor hot tub. We will be back.

Room Tip: Ask for a room off the highway.

Didn't stay for long, with a late arrival and early departure, but can comment on a few things. First room in one of the several outbuildings was very big with nice looking beds, but no heat. The room and the building had a worn, old look to it even though the bedding and other furniture looked fairly modern. Was moved quickly and efficiently to a room in the main lodge. This room was smaller, but much more nicely appointed. I much preferred the room in the main lodge. Slept well in a great bed, and then had a fantastic buffet breakfast that was included with the room rate. Very helpful and nice staff, a very positive experience in spite of the problem with the first room. I rated the location only average because of the immediate surrounding area not being as stunningly beautiful as you might expect for a "lodge" on the river. On the other hand, it is only 15 minutes from Big Sky resort. I titled review "interesting place" because it didn't really feel like a hotel/motel -- more like a ski house.

Room Tip: I suspect the main lodge has the most recently renovated rooms, though I could be wrong.

Sept road trip to Bend Ore, the SO and I wanted to visit Yellowstone.while on route. In addition to enjoying Ole Glacier, the other highlight was staying @Buck's T-4. The property's history and our updated lodge room with comfy bed was superseded by the luscious and bountiful buffet breakfasts that were included in our rate. Chuck, the friendliest chef/host in the world happens to be a co-owner who cares greatly for his guests. What an interesting fellow who has a caring staff. Both nights, our dinner selections were beyond expectations and the huckleberry ice cream was a memorable treat, being that huckleberry shrubs grow alongside the lodge.

We look forward to returning,
Rosemary

We stayed 3 nights in July while visiting Yellowstone. Booked on the internet with many positive reviews. The room is a little crowded with 2 very comfotable beds. The restaurant is very good with a varied menu but a little pricey. The front desk provided us with a free appetizer coupon which we used on our first night.

Room Tip: No elevator, stairs to third floor. Do not request a high floor room if family has many pieces of lu...

The fall off season in the Gallatin Canyon is like a little piece of heaven and add on to that being treated over the top, well it just doesn't get any better. I could have slept in that bed forever, it was so comfy and it was so quiet there. If you want some good R & R, this is the place.

We stayed here in August on a drive across the country the night before our visit to Yellowstone. They gave us a great rate (a TripAdvisor special), about the same as what we ended up paying for Holiday Inns and Best Westerns during other parts of our trip. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, and the restaurant was fantastic. It is also pretty close to the Yellowstone entrance yet way cheaper than hotels right outside the park. We would definitely stay here again.

My family and I stayed one night at Buck's T-4 Lodge, having selected it over the internet and not knowing what to expect. We loved it. The lodge is well named, and it has the decor and feel of a mountain lodge. The beds were so comfortable, I wanted to bring one home with me! The rooms were well-appointed and cozy, the main room open and airy, the outdoor eating area spacious, the indoor eating area also spacious and again with the mountain lodge feel. The breakfast was marvelous, fresh, and hot, and people were also very friendly. To top it off, we were there in June, and did indeed have beautiful views of the Big Sky. Wish we had had more time there.
