My former roommate and friend of 43 years returned to Illinois from Seattle staying at the River Rock Lodge for one night. Far too short a stay as we were impressed with the friendliness of the staff, the clean and tidy room with Indian blankets on the beds, and Wi-Fi that was not a problem in connecting. We ate at a nearby restaurant and because of our deadline and exhaustion passed on the Shakespearean play offered by the community. The town is definitely a spot where you could stay for long term. Breakfast was ample and in a cozy spot where you could find fellow travelers who shared their journeys,.

River Rock Lodge is a warm and inviting place to stay, with a traditional old west feeling and atmosphere. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and quiet. During this time of the year, most of the surrounding restaurants were closed. We stayed here as an alternative to staying closer to Yellowstone. The drive from Big Sky to Yellowstone is only 48 miles, and it is a beautiful drive, but gets old after a few times.

Clean, quiet, stylish small hotel situated in a wonderful place, at walking distance from Ousel Falls. Very friendly and helpful staff, good quality breakfast, clean and beautifully decorated rooms. Good local brewery located just 4-5 minutes driving away. Shopping and restaurants also very close. I would give them more than five stars if I could!

Hotel staff was outstanding! A perfect lodge! The rooms were decorated with so much character! Beds comfy, close to shopping and great restaurants!! We didn't want to leave! My husband really wanted to see wildlife, so the guy working at the front desk directed us up the road, and we saw moose, elk, deer. The entire area was so beautiful!

The River Rock Lodge is a small hotel located in the meadow Village section of big sky. You are still 10 minutes from skiing but it has great access to the other attractions in the area. The rooms were lovely and the staff was friendly. They had an unadvertised breakfast buffet with coffee, bagels, and cereal which was a nice surprise. The lobby is small. It ia a perfect place to stay for a night or two if you are in the area.

We stayed at River Rock Lodge when we were forced to change plans in the aftermath of the East Coast snow storm in February. We had to find a place at the last minute and were basically stranded with a lot of luggage and no immediate access to transport. We were also a bit distressed because it impacted the remainder of our holiday in the US and meant a lot of re-arranging. From the moment we arrived, Pam at reception did the utmost to accommodate us and help us out. She let us into our room early so that we could relax and get on with our holiday, helped us with places to eat, general information and our ongoing transport arrangements. Every hotel should have someone like her on reception. She is a real treasure, helpful, hospitable and efficient.
The Lodge itself is as good as it looks, its not just an architectural gem and beautifully decorated, its clean and well-maintained. It's a generous place, our room was large, the lobby with cosy fire inviting with an office/reading room area as well and a hot tub I think. The continental breakfast included in the room rate was another delight and example of the generosity of spirit which permeates this place.
But mostly its the staff that makes this a great place to stay.

We stayed at River Rick based on another hotel's recommendation. I'm so glad we did. There is a lovely woman who works there who gave us advice on where to eat, how to get around, and how to acclimate to the high altitude, rooms are spacious and clean with comfortable beds. The hotel is well situated in the meadow with easy access to s lot of restaurants and movie theater.
