“great hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2012

We stayed in a 2 br suite with kitchen, along with our 3 kids. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies (not food) so we were able to cook and not eat out during our stay. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the view from our room was amazing! There were lots of activities to do at the resort if you want to spend the money, but that would add up pretty fast so we tried to keep the basecamp activities to a minimum. Its close enough to yellowstone to make a day or even half day trip over. Nothing is cheap in this area, so bring what you can for groceries/snacks/supplies! The whole resort was amazing, the only thing we felt it lacked was a pool for the kids (the two they have are very large hottubs).

The Summit at Big Sky is not the most spectacular mountain resort that I have enjoyed, but it is very good.
Reservations: easily made on line.
Check In: fast efficient and friendly.
Room: spacious five room suite, with full kitchen, living room/dining room with fireplace, flat screen TV, and pull out couch, large bedroom with king size bed and flat screen TV, and two full bathrooms. Linens and towels were topnotch. Kitchen appliances were very nice but not top of the line.
Amenitiies: beautiful views everywhere, good restaurants around the hotel and some very nice ones about 6 miles away in the town center, excellent gym, nice hot tub/small pool, and a number of nice small shops nearby. Beautiful resort golf course 6 miles away in the town center. FREE HIGH SPEED INTERNET and lots of FREE PARKING.
Activities: i was here at the end of the summer so there was hiking , kayaking, horseback riding, and zip lining, along with fly fishing, either on site or nearby. Of course, the the winter the skiing is fantastic.
Travel: Bozeman is about 1.25 hours away from Big Sky with frequent shuttle service. Lots of flights into Bozeman airport, with nonstops from Chicago, LA, SF, Seattle, Newark, Atlanta, etc. No Southwest or AirTran.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the ski area.

The Summit is a perfect place to stay if you're looking for a traditional hotel style accomodation. My family stayed two nights following our extended stay in Yellowstone and enjoyed our three days in Big Sky - it was terrific!

The Summit is very comfortable, well maintained and very convenient to all of the restaurants and activities in the Village. Highly recommended!

Four of us stayed in a Summit 1 Bedroom Suite during a week-long visit to Yellowstone. The suite was spacious, well furnished, and had two full bathrooms (awesome for two couples). It is a long drive to Yellowstone (about 50 minutes to the West Entrance), but for the quality of the accommodations, I thought the additional drive time was well worth it. After a long day of hiking or sightseeing, we slept well. The outdoor hot tub/pool was excellent, and there was a volleyball and kayaking at a nearby lake. Our only disappointment was that the website advertised breakfast included in the room price, but when we arrived, we were informed breakfast is only included in the winter. Instead we hit the Blue Moon Bakery every day.

First of all do not stay in this hotel if your destination is Yellowstone. It is about an hour and 45 minutes from the west entrance and you have to drive up an entire mountain to get to this hotel. We ordered a king hotel room with a Jacuzzi tub and when we arrived we got a king room that was handicap accessible. The bathroom looked like it was right out of a hospital. When we complained they did nothing to change our room or make us happier. We paid a lot of money for one nights stay and did not even get the room we wanted. The price is way to high for what you get. The hotel is clean, but nothing special. When we went to the hot tub we were warned 3 times it was closing 30 minutes before closing time, they were very pushy. They did not care if we were satisfied and I made it clear I was not happy with our stay. This hotel is pricey, way out of the way, and has bad customer service. They do not care about the individual customer. I would never stay here again and will not suggest it to anyone.

We stayed here briefly on the final leg of a Montana/Yellowstone summer family vacation. It was a great hotel/condo experience. The staff was very friendly and the accommodations were superb. We had 2 adjoining rooms, one was a typical hotel-style room with ample closet space, two queen beds (comfort due to mattress and bedding was amazing), and large bathroom. The other room was a sitting area with a fireplace, kitchen, very large bathroom with soaking jet tub, large closet and a Murphy bed (same mattress as queens, so also comfortable). Our kids are 11,7 & 4, and we could have easily stayed here comfortably for a week (or more) while enjoying the area. We will definately be back during ski season.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing Lone Mountain.

Beautiful place for a summer (and winter) vacation. Convenient to Yellowstone, local tour guided trout fishing trips, hiking trails and golf courses. Magnificent terrain and view. The Cabin restaurant was superb and the service very firendly and efficient.Hightly recommend. The hotel was convient to the ski lift and shops. Very peaceful place for a vacation.

Room Tip: Take binoculars to see the abundant wildlife.
