Ever have someone who is a tenderfoot and wants to try horseback riding? Jake's Horses is an excellent treat. They are located just south of the Big Sky turnoff on 191 and you have to look hard after you turn off the highway to make sure you don't miss the parking lot which is down a slope from the side road you use to get to it. The folks who run this are excellent and helpful. The day we rode, it was threatening rain, but we went anyway and had a grand time. The horses are all friendly and the staff tries to do everything they can to make your trip a pleasure. We were going to do a two hour trip, but elected a one hour trip due to the weather. We would definitely recommend Jake's Horses -- we had a great time and think you will to! They collect the fee at the end of the ride and, while I did not ask, I don't think they take credit cards so you may want to come prepared or ask. We paid in cash and added a gratuity for the guide as he was so good in keeping things organized. I might add that we felt the prices were extremely reasonable for the value received.
