“Biggest Skiing in America! And the BEST!”
Reviewed January 25, 2014

Where else can you ski yourself to exhaustion by noon? With no liftlines to stand around (and rest) in, the best you'll do is the 5-9 minute ride up the lift! The skiing is exceptional, and with the addition of Moonlight and Spanish Peaks, you can cruise the groomers or scare the (snow) pants off yourself for days!

“Big skiing”
Reviewed January 25, 2014

Huge mtn. No lift lines. First day was bluebird. Second day was powder. The tram is a must do. If you are not staying on the mountain, There is a free shuttle that gets you around or use the free parking and the mtn shuttle comes by every 16 minutes or less.

“Great Ski Resort with Something for Everyone”
Reviewed January 20, 2014

From Spanish Peaks for Beginners to anything off Lone Peak for experts this enormous ski resort has it all. We are Eastern skiers and were amazed by the beauty and the amount of snow.

We stayed at Huntley Lodge which included a breakfast buffet each morning. That was a great start to the day as they had everything from waffle and omelette stations to fruit, toast, breakfast sandwiches, and more bacon than a horde could eat.
Another interesting morning start was listening to the avalanche charges going off.

Ate dinner at a different restaurant in the mountain village each night and while they were ski-resort (pricey) it wasn't outrageous and the quality was very good. Also had lunch over at the Moonlight Basin Lodge one day which was excellent. Adding in Moonlight is a great addition to the overall resort.

We experienced varied weather conditions on the slopes over 5 days from below zero and snowing to blue sky and 25 degrees. It seems to snow every night! Never a lift line, except at the Tram, but that went quickly. Good coverage on most of the trails, but there are hidden rocks in many bowls - which is why they call it the Rockies.

Good lift layout, excellent resort, can't wait to go back.

“ski club visit to big sky”
Reviewed January 20, 2014

WHile you can't do much about weather . You should beable to expect exceptional service when bringing a group of 40 people to the top hotel. ( the Summit) The snow if fact was good. It was the wind that kept liffts closed. But it is so big we still found alot to ski. However within the four walls of the summit hotel the staff was surprisingly not up to snuff. I tried to make group meals, snowmobiling, bbqs, and all sorts of non skiing events for our club. None went off well. They seemed to be happy to get the contracts signed but forgot about the custormer service that should go along with implementation. One good example was in the morning when our group met for breakfast the heat was off in the room. Instead of inviting us into the main dining area we were told to go to our rooms and get blankets if we were cold and that we were not welcome in the main dining room!!! Another was lack of communications as I was attemping to plan the trip, Our rep Angela told me when she did not respond to an email for 7 days that she was "just to busy to get back to me." Lucky the mountain itself is so incredible because the part not left to mother nature was very dissappointing.

“Big Sky ski week”
Reviewed January 19, 2014 via mobile

I take my family to Big Sky Resort for skiing & snowboarding every January. I have been going there for about the last 30 years. Some years are "cold" even by Montana standards but the snow never fails to satisfy. I started going there in 1983 right after I got married and now we take our kids & grandkids. I have seen a lot of change since 1983 but it has been a great ski location. I have skied in Europe and Colorado also but Big Sky is top notch for my hard-earned money (but skiing is certainly NOT a cheap sport).
