“Valentines weekend”

We went to the Saint George Hotel in Weston for a Valentines weekend. What an AWESOME place. Old world charm, clean rooms, soft comfy bed and delightful decor. You are able to really picture this place 100 years ago. Lots of history with ths place. But it has plenty of modern conviences. In house bar-restaurant, Mike in the bar was very personable and made very good drinks. We will be going back.

Our weekend in Weston was excellent. Shaun and his team were integral to our trip being so good. They went out of their way to provide the highest quality service. Upon our arrival our room was upgraded and we got the Captain’s Suite. This room included a sweet view and large whirl-pool tub. The room was especially clean and ready right at 3pm. Unlike most hotels, boutique or commercial, the bed and pillows were comfortable. When asked for things to do and places to go, the staff had lots of options to explore. I would tell anyone who visited this fun, weekend-trip town to stay at the St. George.

Room Tip: The Captains suite has a great view of the small downtown of Weston.

This has become one of my go to places for a nice comfortable evening in a cozy atmosphere with awesome pizza and wonderful drinks.
Yes, I am a local and despite hearing the bartender and another employee telling an out of town couple locals don't support them ......oooppps.. I still really like this place. Chicken Alfredo pizza get out of here..it is wonderful. Margaritas are over the top and the local amber ale. Whether I am with my girlfriends or my hubby this place allows us to sit talk and enjoy. Only pizza and salad served along with local beer and wines. It does have a really nice selection of local microbrews.
Keep it up and they will come. For now I am enjoying walking in and getting a table, great pizza, and fun waitstaff, without having to wait.

We spent a fun evening at the Saint George! If you want shiny and modern, this isn't your place. If you want historic and "good bones", this is it! Our room was right over the check in desk and we were worried about noise. The only noise we had was inconsiderate guests having a loud conversation on the stairs. Our view was great, the staff were wonderful. The bartender in the lounge was great, but the wine selection was terrible. I understand wanting to serve local wines, but variety is needed!

We didn't stay in the hotel, but we did have dinner in the bar/ lounge.
We were told by locals the pizza here was great and we agree. The pizza was awesome and the bar stocked a variety of locally produced beverages.

I needed a place to stay in Weston so that I could enjoy O'Malley's Pub (located at Weston Brewing Company)...yes, a place to crash after an evening of drinking. The staff at The Saint George were amazingly friendly and helped me with all of my questions about the town. A bottle of Weston Brewing Company's beer (Rip Van Winkle, a nice light bock) was left in my room along with a bottle opener. That little perk made my day! The room was perfect for one person, but two people could have fit comfortably (I booked a queen solo room). There was a walk in shower, toilet, and pedestal sink in the room as well. EVERYTHING WAS SUPER CLEAN! I could not have been happier with the room. Check out was a breeze. The only comment I can make is that the sleeping area of the room was a little dark. One more table lamp would have brightened it up a bit. Other than that, pure perfection. There is also an elevator in the place, which is nice to see in an older, historic, building.

Room Tip: Parking can be tight if you are staying over a busy weekend. Try to arrive much earlier than antici...

What a memorable 29th anniversary celebration. With very limited time my husband I decided to stay at the St. George Hotel to celebrate our anniversary. Having lived in the area for four years, we decided to check out the town of Weston and all that it had to offer. We were not disappointed with all the things to do and see for the weekend. We had originally hoped to stay at a B&B in town, but they were all booked for the evening. When we checked the website for St. George, there were 2 rooms left to choose from, so we booked our room 2 days in advance. Before arriving for our 3:00 PM check-in, we stopped at Pirtle's Winery to sample the local wine and to purchase a picnic basket to enjoy in the wine garden next to the winery. What a wonderful idea to just sit, sip wine and enjoy the wonderful bread, cheeses and sausage that comes in the basket. The setting is very quaint and beautiful. From there we continued on to tour the Weston Brewery, a very nice tour and great sampling of the local beer.

We checked into the hotel at 3:00 PM. Check-in was quick with John (owner) explaining everything about the hotel to us, offering us a late check-out, wishing us a happy anniversary and directed us to our rooms. Our room was on the third floor. The hotel does have a nice working elevator that took us up. We found the room to be very small, (clean and nicely decorated), limited seating (only one small chair), and a small bathroom with a large walk in shower (which was great). The pictures of the rooms on the website was very accurate as well as the description of each room, so we were not surprised when we walked in. We did notice a bit of dampness to the room, but most of that was probably due to the high humidity we've been having in the midwest and the age of the hotel. We decided that we needed to check out the shops in town since most of them close at 5:00. For the most part this small town rolls up the sidewalks at 5:00 and not a minute later!! We proceeded to check out the historical homes and buildings in town from a map that we picked up in the lobby of the hotel. This would have been a beautiful walking tour if it had been cooler. We never realized how much history was here. Upon finishing our tour we went back to the hotel to freshen up before dinner at 7:00. Upon arriving to our room, we were surprised to find someone in our room. We went back down to the front desk and spoke to John, who immediately told us what had happened and walked us to another room apologizing all the way. We were a little taken back by the incident and concerned how the evening would progress by this time. We arrived to dinner at 7:00 at Charlemagnes located downstairs in the hotel. This was our 2nd visit to Charlemagnes and the food and service is wonderful. We were a little disappointed to find out that the accordian player was in Finland and would not be entertaining us. We dined for 2 hours visiting with John and another couple sitting next to our table. After dinner when we received our bill, it was much to our surprise that at the bottom of the receipt it said "happy anniversary, the wine is on us." Thanks John and staff for a wonderful evening. We decided to take a walk down main street to see the hotel at night and to sit and enjoy the quiteness of this small town before going back to our room.

We were looking forward to a quite restful night, when at 12:30 AM we were awakened by people talking in the hallways. This went on for a few minutes and then subsided until morning when people began leaving their rooms talking in the hallways and outside their rooms. We really didn't notice alot of noise coming from other rooms, mostly in the hallways and outside the door. The A/C was hard to keep the temperature regulated, the room either being too cold or too warm. The bottom sheet did not stay fitted to the mattress very well, with us having to make several adjustments during the night. In reading through past reviews these were the same problems other guests had too (I was hoping that it would have been corrected since others had mentioned it) . The breakfast/brunch was wonderful and was a nice ending to our visit here at the St. George. Upon leaving John also offered us a tour of the Silk Art Museum located at the St. George. My husband and I had seen the museum on our first visit to Charlemagnes. This is a very nice tour that John gives and worth the time to see. Thanks John for the offer again, wish we had more time to see it again and the changes you talked about since our last visit. Despite a few mishaps, we appreciate all that John did to make our stay enjoyable. We wish you and your staff the best in keeping a part of Weston alive for all to enjoy.
