We visited on a Wednesday evening without booking a table. We were welcomed by the barman who was very helpful. Good selection of real ales to choose from. The menu wasn't massive but everything sounded delicious and we were still spoilt for choice. We ordered quickly but there was a 45 minute wait for food which we weren't warned about and seemed excessive for 2 meals considering it wasn't that busy. However, when the food arrived, the wait seemed irrelevant! It was delicious! Generous portions, well presented and beautiful flavours! Easily one of the best meals we've had and definitely topped our expectations. The only downside was the staff. There was one scruffy waitress who clearly did not want to be there and the poor barman was taking orders, taking food out and serving at the bar. We will be back but hopefully we'll have time for dessert and slightly friendlier service!
