“Nice visit”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

We visited here while in Valley Park. Admission is free and the grounds are really pretty. They are handicap accessible and staff is very friendly and there to answer questions. Nice way to spend a free afternoon.

“Hidden Treasure!”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

Such a nice outside setting for this fun attraction. Good for young children, but not a bad place to visit for kids of any age! Up close to caged exhibits gives the children a good look and a feeling of seeing the animal in its' habitat. Inside exhibits and teaching guides add to the educational aspect. Great walking visit for retirees too!

“Birds & Your Camera Great Experience”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

Do you enjoy getting up close to beautiful birds of prey, plus taking photos of them to share? If you do, this is the place. WBS has on display eagles, owls, hawks, and a staff who want to help you enjoy the experience and learn at the same time. Up near the visitors center is an area in which the education birds are displayed on ground perches. With even a modest telephoto lens, you can get some very candid images. It is shaded here so you may wish to push up your ISO to at least 800. The Staff will have the birds on jesses, so at times they will bring the birds up to the fence for a full face image. The Nature Center at the bottom of the hill is worth the climb down as they have many things the children will enjoy in the Center. A new blacktop surface makes it easy to get around with wheelchairs and strollers. Have a Great Day and enjoy the birds.

“Up close and amazing!”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

Want a close-up view of our national bird? Ever see a condor spread his wings? Here's the place to do it in a quiet, well-maintained spot. Every bird is described in detail, so, not only is it a beautiful experience, you're going to learn, too!

“Off the Beaten Path”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

This was my second visit to the World Bird Sanctuary. I love this place. It is free to the public but donations are greatly appreciated. It is a great place to take the family and have a picnic. They have tables that you can sit at and the staff is great for answering any questions that you may have. Most of us never get to see a Bald Eagle up close and they are truly a majestic bird. My next trip back will also include the indoor facility.
