We were tired and did not want to drive anywhere. We had noticed some places that were in walking distance. We were staying at the wonderful Moonrise hotel. The porter suggested that we go up the street and try one of the other 2 Thai restaurants. One was closed ( a number of restaurants are closed on Tuesdays) all 3 were owned by the same person. We decided to go walk back and go to the Thai Country Cafe. It was delightful and the food was very good. It hit the spot and when we are back and staying at the wonderful Moonrise hotel we'll plan on dinner there.

This food is pretty good, reasonably priced for the area. I had the Drunken Noodle and it was satisfying, but not the best Thai food I've had by a long shot.

I go here all of the time! Several different options to choose from and you get a great portion for the price you pay. Probably my favorite Thai place in St. Louis.

There was nothing special about the food, it was very basic Thai food. If you want your food spicy, be sure to ask. Even the "spicy" food was not very spicy. Best thing about the restaurant is how quickly they get your food out....

So we've been in St Louis for a year and a half now and this is our favorite Thai place so far. Apparently, the owners have 4 Thai restaurants in the Loop. We have been to 2 of them. The other one was absolutely disgusting - it is across the street from this one and starts with a G followed by a word I don't know. Anyway, that restaurant uses canned EVERYTHING (mushrooms, bamboo shoots, corn, etc). It was truly gross and it was the same price as Thai Country so I don't know why you would ever go there. But this place uses fresh ingredients, makes it as spicy as you want it and has great taste. The crab rangoon is very good. The mango sticky rice is a must have. We highly recommend.
