Owner description: Dickerson Park Zoo is where people and animals connect. Enjoy getting outside and enjoying the natural beauty of the area while seeing and learning about animals from Africa, Tropical Asia, South America, Australia and North America. See the reptiles at the Ambler Diversity of Life center, ride the Titus Express miniature train, get up close and personal with the giraffes on the giraffe deck (giraffe feeding an additional fee but observation deck is free) and visit the petting zoo. Cafe and gift shop also available.
Useful Information: Activities for young children, Food available for purchase

Smaller city zoo with outdated exhibits. It did, however, appear as if they were doing some updating to some of them. My children (ages 11 and 13) enjoyed it, but zipped through most exhibits in record time. We got to see them "wash" the elephants, and the high point of the visit was getting to feed crackers to the giraffes. Worth a visit if you're a local, but next time we might try the drive-through safari park.

Children had a wonderful time at this zoo! it is just the right size, not spaced too far apart. Food was reasonably priced and tasted good.

As usual, its cool to see exotic animals. But the landscaping/exhibits/enclosures are nothing pretty and don't seem well kept. Some enclosures are so poorly designed you'll never see the animals in them. I like to see a zoo that is visually appealing and designed for maximum animal viewing, especially for a zoo you have to PAY to visit. Best part is Giraffe enclosure because they've built a deck overlook where you can actually touch/feed the Giraffes. That part is cool.

It was great the animals were walking around and out to see not like most zoos when you go all the animals are hiding. I loved it. Took my grand daughter age 3 she had lots of fun.

If you have ever been to a big zoo, like the St. Louis Zoo, then Dickerson Park Zoo will be disappointing. It's small a collection of animals and the displays are not that appealing. Not worth the cost.
