“Good spot and clean for the price”
Reviewed August 21, 2012

I stayed at the Microtel Inn, right off I-44 on August16th when i moved my step-son to school for the fall. It was very inexpensive and well worth my money. It's not a plush, new hotel with a lot of features, so if you're a Hilton, Starwood, or Marriott junkie, don't bother. I paid $57 (including taxes) for one night. There wasn't a room left that night, and the parking lot was full. The hotel is right on the north side of I-44, and really was far enough off the road that the noise wasn't too bad. I felt safe in the lot and hotel, and for it being a full night, it was rather quiet and peaceful. The rooms are older, and not the most up-to-date as other have mentioned, but mine was very clean and not torn apart. I thought it was good for the $$$. The staff was very friendly, and I really had no complaints on this stay at all. They do have a complimentary breakfast, but I can't speak for it since I didn't eat there the next morning. Overall, I got a good room, for a cheap price, and didn't feel like it was a rat's nest or meth lab hub like a lot of budget interstate hotels make you feel these days! As I mentioned, if you like fancy places with bells and whistles, move on. If you need a good clean room for a budget price, this is a good spot. I would stay here again.

There was nothing fancy at this location, but everything was clean and maintained. The room was it's traditional smaller dimensions. The bed was clean, firm and comfortable. The room and hotel were odor free and the staff was friendly. When I called for a reservation an employee name Michelle spit out about 10 different things to see if I qualified for a discount. Whichever one I took made the room $43 plus tax. This was less expensive then many higher priced and lower rated locations in the area. There was no pool or guest laundry. Nothing extra, but what was there was what I was looking for. The only thing that was bothersome was the employee would stand at the entrance for their cigarettes and the odor would be drawn into the lobby and breakfast area. Otherwise, no issues.

There was a Conoco truck stop next door, but most of the trucks were turned off with drivers possibly sleeping in the cabs and you could not hear any idling. It was to the right of the building, about 500 feet across the surface road.

The location appeared to be clean and well-run and probably open 24 hours if you needed something quick for a snack, soda or sandwich, etc.

I would return to this location again if I was in the area, especially if it was for a quick, clean rest on the way to or from someplace. There are copious amounts of restaurants on the other side of the highway on both sides of the road until you get to downtown Springfield, so you will find something if you are hungry and have a vehicle.

Room Tip: There was no elevator. There were at least 3 sets of stairs to the second floor. The back of the l...

stayed here just one evening on our way back home from Texas. Price was excellent, room was clean, and front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this to anyone needing an affordable, comfortable place to stay for the evening. No dining options within walking distance, but for a $5-6 cab ride you can get to a number of restaurants if you don't feel like driving.

Staff was very friendly and seemed eager to give us a discount which was very much appreciated. Hotel seemed older but was good for the price we paid. Small choice for breakfast. Would recommend to someone just needing a place to stop for the night.

Very friendly service and clean rooms but a bad nights rest. The thermostat on the air conditioner is typical of a cheap hotel- the fan runs all night but the compressor does kickoff so you don't freeze, you just can't sleep because of the noise. The mattress was just as uncomfortable and hard as they come. The price reflects quality. They have free long distance but the phone didn't work. An employee offered to come to my room so I could use her cell phone. I stayed at Microtels before and this is the worst.
