After they toured the castle they were very excited and wanted to see the Ghost Lab video on it. I am glad we saw it after the tour and not before. It is a great bit of history.

On our tour the owner was very good in explaining why they bought the castle and the challenges they had to get up to the point they are in. It was easy to find the place. They take credit card and there is a sitting area to wait prior to the tour start.
There are rooms where it can get stuffy, she spent more time talking about the place in rooms where there is air conditioning. it was interesting in why the castle was built, by who, and the castles early years. It was as interesting in the operations of the castle during WW2 years.
It is a good tour in the historical sense. When I asked about the paranormal activities in the castle, she told us of her experiences, during the tour we did not noticed anything odd.

The owners were professional dancers in LA. The events held there are unique.

Went for the 10pm ghost tour. The tour guide, Tim, was very good. He is an excellent orator, and has tons of stories about the castle. He is able to paint a vivid picture of the castle's history and truly gives you an appreciation for its significance. He also ties in the names of real people that have lived there and an explanation of their time at the castle. On the tour I caught several orbs on my camera and even a EVP on my phone! I would definitely recommend this hidden Springfield gem if not for the tour then for the sheer beauty of the building. It is arguably the most beautiful building in Springfield, with an interesting history to match.

My husband and I went to the Muder Mystery dinner theatre. It was okay.....the script could have been written better to make it easier to follow. the dinner was okay. Mandarin Salad, Chicken Cordon Bleu and vegtables and Chocolate Torte for dinner. The Chicken cordon Bleu was not your average Chicken Cordon Bleu.......but was very tender to eat. The vegtables were wonderful as was the torte. The dining room is very elegant with the candle lights on all the tables. The history of the museum was really fasinating. If it wasn't for the couple that sat with us during the murder mystery, we really wouldn't have been as amused. The ghost tour was pretty boring. I almost fell asleep standing up several times. I give it a 3 rating because of the history and beauty of the castle. The murder mystery dinner and ghost tour leaves a lot to be desired.
