Inn Springfield East

Just returned from a one night stay. Booked on Hotels.com. Got a great rate. This would not be the rate if booking directly. That's why a gave it an average on value.

Rooms have been updated int he last three years since I was ther last. Nice decor and bed linens. Everything was clean but the underside of the toilet. Can you tell I'm pretty picky. But it wasn't like they hadn't cleaned just missed a spot or they didn't look very well when they were done.

Staff was great, indoor heated pool was actually heated and felt so good. I could have stayed in it for hours. Hot tub jets were not working but it was to hot anyway and just got back in the pool.

Hot breakfast, eggs, bisquits and gravy, waffles, fruit, donuts, rolls, bagles, cereal. Milk, Juice and Coffee. An attendent was there to help keep everything full and on ice.

Great value, good 3 star hotel.

Floor flexes when you walk. Hall carpet needs replacement and walks look to be painted with cheap paint.Breakfast average, but seating area way too small for number of hotel residents. Long elevator wait. First room had a lockout door that didnt latch and a barking dog next door. Thin walls. Staff moved me to another room that had non working lights over the sink, by the bed, and a VERY particular door card reader. Staff was nice, but I won't be staying there again. Generally clean, but big mold buildup on bathtup overfill drain. This sheets and blankets. Good but loud manual A/C. This hotel is not ranked above a 2 star rating on many sites, and did not measure up the the 2 star hotels I stayed in the rest of the trip, but beware-- Hotwire rates it 2.5 stars...

Me, my sister and her 2 year old son stayed here on a long trip. We chose this hotel because it was right off the highway and it was getting late. Check in was fairly quick. The main lobby, which is where breakfast is served, was quite small. This hotel is long past the renovation stage. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls. The rooms smelled musty. The floors would creak and every few steps I would feel the floor board sink. The floor in the bathroom was uneven. The beds were soft, but they had paper thin sheets that did not fit properly so they came off during the night. The toilet in our room was backed up, when we called the front desk and she said it would be awhile unless we wanted to come get the plunger and do it ourselves. Over an hour later someone finally came to fix the problem. The rooms were clean, but worn. The heated indoor pool was small, but nice. The breakfast was average. The dining area was so small that all the guests were tripping over each other. It was very crowded and unpleasant. The location was perfect for us, seeing how we were hitting the road first thing in the morning. This is not a hotel I would choose to stay at again.

We were in Springfield for a volleyball tournament. One of our parent received an obscene phone call. The front desk did not know how to handle the situation. The front desk stated the call came from inside the hotel. The security officer/shuttle driver/breakfast server was the same person who was working the front desk that evening. He stated he would contact police and alert the next shift. Needless to say, NOTHING was done. The morning shift knew nothing about the incident, and did not notify the police. The hotel's response was "what do want us to do?" Everything was left up to the person who received the obscene call. No one slept the whole weekend.

The swimming pool was very small. When the team was in the pool, there wasn't much room for anyone else. The pictures on the website make the pool look bigger than it is.

Stayed for 4 days from March 20-24, 2008. Got an online deal from hotel website for $48 a night. Confirmed a late arrival (8pm). Got there at 9:30pm and a room was not clean or ready, even tho check in time is 3pm. After the desk clerk spent 15 minutes of trying to locate someone to even start cleaning the room, the desk clerk gave us a suite that was ready.
Suite included a couch, microwave, refrigerator but basically same size room as regular room with no room dividers. small bathroom with tub/shower and toilet, sink in main room. No closet. One wardrobe with two hangers.
Outdated, polyester bedding.
For some reason hotel did not clean the room on either Saturday or Sunday and both days we had to go to front desk to get extra towels.
Pool area small, dirty and smelled funny and there were ants/vermin everywhere. whirlpool had copious soap bubbles in it as if it had been cleaned but not rinsed.
Breakfast area is small with only 6 small tables and even though the breakfast is listed as going until 10am, the hotel staff would be cleaning up and taking items away after 9:30. When they ran out of items they were not replenished, don't go for the free breakfast unless you are the first in line.
Lots of noise in hallways and could hear EVERYTHING in the room next door.
The hotel was cheap and close to golf course which is why we stayed there but we won't be staying there again as there are TONS of hotels in the same area with a better reputation.

The location is convenient, although that comes with some highway noise. In fact, I found this hotel to be very noisy – we had noise from the pool, the room above us, and the loud maids at 7 am on Sunday.

The décor is dated and the bedding well past its prime. A renovation would do this hotel some good. Our room had a funny smell; sort of musty. Thankfully the window opened!

The wi-fi did not work. There was no guide in the room and the front desk was little help, only telling me it should start automatically. You know what, Skippy? I understand that part…it’s the part where it doesn’t work that’s confusing me.

Breakfast featured the typical make-your-own waffles, biscuits and gravy, bagels, boiled eggs, cereal, coffee, milk & juice. However, I found the lack of fruit disappointing. (P.S. Coffee is weak! There’s a Starbucks a mile or two down Glenstone.)

Glad I only had to stay one night.

Booked for 1 night through Priceline b/c we were in town for a golf tournament... very accessible location... check-in was friendly and quick... beds were comfy and we cranked the air all the way down and slept very well...

I would agree w/ the previous review that, overall, this property was nothing special but perfectly adequate. There are lots of inexpensive motels in the area that are similar in quality, but I would stay at the Laquinta again if I could get it for a good price.
