It's been over a year since I last visited the Japanese Stroll Garden but it's a lovely place to wander on a warm day. I first saw it soon after it opened and they continue to improve it. There are many changes at Nathanael Greene Park with the botanical garden center, but I like to remember days gone by when this park was just a wide open space great for letting the kids run wild and fly their kites. Worth a visit.

This place is peaceful and nice to view but i wouldnt make a long trip to see it or anything. Its pretty small. However for native Springfielders its a nice little area to visit and stroll through. Would be perfect for a Saturday afternoon on a day with nice weather.!

Anime fans will adore the torii gates and cherry blossoms fitting in every anime ever, but in reality its just a very beautiful park with a scenic walking trail. The japanese bridges and house are beautiful and picturesque. Those of us who saw one to many samurai movies will recognize edo period construction and shinto hints throughout.
Everyone else will just be in awe at the intricate beauty. Every inch has been perfectly planned and tended by someone with a clear case of OCD to make a living growing piece of art.
Grandmas take that grandkid who watches to much anime. Its not intimidating to people who cant find japan on a map. beauty is universal. great place to feed the koi and see foriegn plants meticulously gardened in a way us roman/european based cultures never see. Bring a camera. It is closed during the winter though.

Beautiful, serene, quiet setting. Photographer's dream:) Took the whole family and their families..kids are able to feed the goldfish and play. Great place to take photos of the kids, or scenery. Plan to go in the fall when the leaves change colors.
