First off you can never go wrong with a Drury Hotel property.
Free drinks (incl beer and wine) every evening, hot and I mean hot breakfast.
Overall... EXCELLENT!

My husband and I stopped here for the night on a road trip and were overall happy. The front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming. They put us in a room with new carpeting and were more than happy to switch us to a new room when I told them the smell was bothering me. The hotel is dog friendly and there is a nice grassy area for walking.

We stayed at the Thrifty Inn on 12/31/09. We stayed due to price, and the fact that they had an indoor pool. The room was on the third floor so we had the cheapest room, and the room itself was much nicer than expected, it was clean, and up to date with the look...or as well as any other motel I have ever seen. The down side to the room was the electrical sucked...the light in the bathroom didn't stay on and several of the other lights seemed to have a mind of thier own. I never did complain to the front desk, I am sure it would have been fixed, the staff was very nice. We thought being that the entrance to our room was outside, and the pool was in the other motel was going to be cold since it was in the 20's that night, but actually wasn't bad. The breakfast was just like any other Drury...the best!!!! I would stay again. For the price and the adminities this was a steal!

We are often patrons of Drury Inns, but have never stayed at a Pear Tree before. We were totally satisfied with this Pear Tree, which is a converted Drury (since a new Drury was built right across the parking lot in summer '09).

There were only a few differences between this Pear Tree and a regular Drury. The ones we noted were: this was an older facility (but well kept); the evening beverages and snacks were more limited (but still just fine); the price was lower (or you can use a minimum of your Drury rewards points for a free night). Otherwise, both regular Drurys & this Pear Tree had the same good hot breakfast, same type room, same good service, same nice year-round pool, same good internet service, same free long-distance phone calls, etc.

I would stay at this Pear Tree again and recommend it. However, I would pick the brand new Sikeston Drury if we wanted a suite. The Pear Tree does not have suites. We love the Drury's true 2-room suites (with doors between the two rooms).

The manager told me that more older Drury's are being converted to Pear Tree Inns. Otherwise, Pear Tree Inns are normally a bit more budget styled. For example, they are not as luxurious as this one and have outdoor corridors rather than indoor corridors (as Drury's and this Pear Tree have).

We stayed here overnight during a trip to Memphis. It was a bit confusing when making the reservation, if we were staying at Pear Tree Inn or Thrifty Inn. And our Expedia reservation said Pear Tree Inn- Thrifty Inn. Then when we pulled in, there were two buildings, one with each name in the same lot. However, the Thrifty Inn building had a sign that said "Check in at Pear Tree Inn". We went to Pear Tree Inn to check in and were given a room in that building. Our room was clean and spacious enough. The bathroom was very clean, the tile even seemed to shine. For the purpse of our stay, this was the perfect hotel. We could have drove straight through but wanted to give the kids a chance to play in a pool and rest a bit, since they really like hotels.
The lobby had free softdrinks and popcorn till 9:00pm. And both of us adults were given a ticket for 3 free drinks (wine or beer). It wasnt the best wine, but it was nice. We were the only ones in the pool. It was warm enough for even me and I am pretty picky (stick to the hot tub most places). About 10 min after we entered the pool, the manager came in and told us he had turned it up and the water was reading at 84 degrees. It was an inside/outside pool and we could swim under the divider and actually swim outside. The kids thought this was pretty neat and the water was warm enough to do this without being unpleasant (even though it was only about 50 degrees outside).
It was this same manager who served our drinks and he was very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast in the morning included sausage, eggs, waffles, gravy, and an assortment of muffins, yourgurt, cereal and other cold items.
Both check in and check out were smooth and I got the impression that if there was any probelm at all, these would be easy people to deal with.
Will definetly stay here again if passing through the same way.
Only downside - even though the beds were comfortable the pillows were not, might want to bring your own,

On a recent trip to Chicago, we stayed at this Pear Tree Inn. We had never heard of this chain but chose it because of the reviews on Trip Advisor. It was well worth it. If you're familiar with Drury Inns, you should know that it belongs to this company; and, indeed, was a Drury Inn until a few months ago when they built a new Drury next door. The price was very reasonalbe; the room was a little small and somewhat dated but the price made it worthwhile. When you include free breakfast in the morning and drinks and snacks at night, this is a very relaxing place to stay after hours on the road. It was clean, and the personnel working there could not have been more friendly or helpful The breakfast in the morning was very good. Based on this experience,we will look for other Pear Tree Inns as we travel.

Clean everywhere, smelled fresh, truly a non-smoking room. Unlike even some of the better mid-priced chains, there was no odor of cleaning chemicals or a smell of hair grease or fried food; even on the chair upholstery was fresh-smelling. Room was spotless - no grubby fingerprints. Rugs were clean enough to go barefoot on. Coverlet and decor gave a light feeling to the room, with none of the depressing dark greens and maroons many places seem to use because it hides dirt and wear.

I'll try others in this chain on the basis of this one.

Breakfast had good coffee and cereal, sausages, biscuits, scrambled eggs, yogurt, granola, orange juice, etc. Didn't take advantage of the free drinks in the evening, but that is a nice extra.

Location was good. I felt secure.

Dexter's Barbecue was not far away. They have outstanding BBQ sandwiches.
