“Did not clean room, bad room design”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

I reserved this room for 2 nights. They advertise $69.99 a night, wrong! For 2 it is over $90 with tax. It is not a $90 a night motel. First of all we were gone from 9 am until 2 pm and room had not been cleaned. I called the desk and they said they would be glad to clean it if I stepped out for 20 minutes. We wanted a nap but were brought what we needed. The computer desk is between the 2 beds. I have never seen that in a motel before. If you are sitting at the desk one person cannot see the TV. The TV is not in the middle of the 2 beds but off to one side. It is an old style TV and stand. The beds are not so great. The room was clean and the staff is nice. The breakfast was pretty good and the morning staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were quiet even with the motel full. I think the main issue I had was the bad room design. The computer desk needs to be moved. You have to go under the table to plug in your computer. Air worked very good. I was in a non smoking room but the smoke is strong in the hallway. There are plenty of restaurants in area and it seems safe. Free drinks in the afternoon is nice.

Room Tip: Do not stay by elevator or ice machine

Thank you for staying with us at the Pear Tree Inn Sikeston during your recent visit to the area. I am sorry about your experience with the room and that we did not meet your expectations on the room design. Our housekeeping staff is here until 4:30 p.m. and just had not gotten to your room yet, since we were sold out that weekend. I was glad to hear the front desk took care of your needs and that you enjoyed the free evening beverages and snacks that we had for you in the evening time. And thank you for your feedback; we take all comments seriously and they help us to better ourselves. Again, I apologize for any inconvenience you experienced and hope you will come back. We do also own and operate the adjacent Drury Inn & Suites and the design of the rooms there may be more accommodating for you.

Sincerely, Carla Norman, General Manager

Stopped in Sikeston for a stay at Pear Tree in Sikeston during the 4th of July travels. Hotel was clean. Rooms clean. Breakfast is very good, fresh and hot with lot's of options. Rate was good. Staff very nice and accomodating. However, the hotel is aging and needs an update. Linens in our room were threadbare. That is my only issue. They do accept pets. Easy access off of I-55. I would stay again.

I know this sounds like a commercial for the Thrifty Inn but I really am pleased with this place.

There's a complex of 3 motels here: The Thrifty Inn, the Pear Inn and the Drury motel. The Thrifty appeals to the traveler not wanting to pay an arm and a leg. But the Thrifty doesn't skimp on the extras.

It's a 3 story motel. I arrived on the weekend and the rooms - if I remember right - were $89 for the first floor, $69 for the 2nd floor and $49 for the third floor (for a single). The man at the check-in was very nice and gave me the weekday rate of $39 even though I didn't ask for it just because I was "easy to work with."

The room is simple and clean. Nice TV selection, great wi-fi, excellent shower, easy chair and on and on. Also, free long-distance calling up to 1 hour of talk time. And a legit hot breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage and much more. Not your normal "hot" faire of toast and waffles out of an iron. Lots of other extras too.

Clearly, whoever manages this outfit does it with the traveler in mind. A very positive experience!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the backside of the motel. It is quieter and there is really a nice view of the pa...

We usually don't book hotels very far in advance and were disappointed when the Drury Inn in Sikeston was full. We gave this place a shot and were quite happy. You can tell from the style of the building it is an older Drury Inn. Very well maintained. Nice rooms. Same wonderful Drury Inn style breakfast at a lower cost.

We really enjoyed our stay at Pear Tree Inn in Sikeston, MO. Everybody was so helpful and accommodating. The room was very adequate and clean. Time did not allow us to take part in the free drinks served in the afternoon, but the breakfast was very nice. All in all, we had a great stay.

This may be a older hotel, but it is clean and appears to be well maintained with a very caring staff. Give it a shot, you will surely be surprised with this hidden gem. While there be sure and check out Lamberts cafeteria just down the road about 1/2 mile.

We chose this motel out of several others available. We are so pleased we did. From the time we checked in until we checked out we were treated like guest in someone's home. A great smile and promises from the first, if we needed anything just let them know, and they would take care of things. They had a great breakfast and plenty of seating, which is unusual.
