Then, the drinks were about 36 ounces and the tab wasn't cheap for the newcomer. You'd need to eat here about 3 times to not be confused by the crowd, the noise, the visual overload....sort of an experience like Wall Drug with black eyed peas and hush puppies. Actual live honkytonk player.

Lamberts is over the top all around. The atmosphere, portion sizes, even uniforms are over the top in theme. Drinks come out in a huge insulated mug. Some of the meals are served in the skillet. The rolls and sorghum are amazing. I could eat a whole meal out of the fried potatoes alone. I recommend the ham or roast beef for an entree. I've never been brave enough to try the hog jowl. If you can manage it, go on a week day. It is not uncommon to wait more than two hours to be seated for lunch on a weekend. They also do not take plastic for payment (no credit or debit cards). They take cash or check, and there is an ATM in the building. Take home some sorghum from the store on the way out. It's a good price and tastes better than the sorghum I can find anywhere else.

This is a nice place to spend time with family. The frog legs were juicy and the ham was perfect. The portions are large. The "throwed rolls" made it fun and they played antics at your table as the passed around the side dishes.

The throwed rolls are ALWAYS THE BEST at Lambert's! This time I decided to have the fried chicken & when my plate came out it had 4 big, juicy pieces on it! My husband had the pork sandwich, & my daughter had the chicken tenders & they said the were also delicious. We got there just ahead of the crowd on a Saturday so we were able to get a table with no waiting but anyone who arrived after 11:30 had about an hour to wait. So, my advice is to get there early & come hungry & you won't be dissapointed!

Interesting place to eat. Stopped on our way to Nashville on Easter. Was busy but no wait for a table. The pass arounds and rolls were great and so was the service. Wife had the ham steak, it was great and huge. I made the mistake of ordering the chicken and dumplings?? More like salted chicken and flat noodles, luckily the bowl was very small, they should be embarassed to serve this especially next to the ham.
