“A good place to stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 13, 2012

Although this is an older property, the amenities were up to date. Even though a church group of kids were there, my room was quiet and well appointed. A breakfast buffet was adequate for everyone and the coffee was great.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back for a quiet one.

We stayed here for two nights and found the staff friendly, however this property is in need of updating! We paid MORE for an inside pool room, which we really didn't want. There were kids in the pool making all kinds of noise starting just after 7:00 AM!...and noise continued until well past 10 PM. The hot breakfast is just okay...sort of institutional tasting food. And if you like 'buffet' - you would probably like it. Certainly more food than most motels offer for a 'free' breakfast. BEWARE when you check out - check your bill! We were charged an extra $2 a day above our rate for something...I'm guessing it's a tip for the maid. We did not use the phone or have any additional charges that would be added to our bill...it just said 'hospitality' or 'lodging' or something like that next to the charge explanation - we did not go back to ask...didn't notice it until we were well down the road. That extra charge should have been explained to us. Deceptive. I believe Sedalia has better choices.

I was excited when I read the reviews about the pool and hot tubs and especially the breakfast buffet. When I got there I was pleasantly greeted by the lady at the front desk. I think her name was Joyce. I'm in the Air Guard and we were there for guard weekend. She was nice enough to change our rooms around even though she was swamped. So it started off good. We all wanted to get in the hot tub. One was clear but cold and the other one looked like a swamp but smelled like straight chlorine. So that wasn't going to happen. The rooms were fine but no micro or frig. Some rooms are on the outside of the building. Close to alot of restaurants. I'm not sure what happened to the hot breakfast buffet but the only thing it had was apples and oranges. Needles to say I would rather stay at the Truman Inn if I'm in Sedelia it's cheaper.

We arrived late in the evening on a Friday. Ashly the desk clerk was very friendly and had our reservation promptly taken care of. Showed us where the room was, ect. The breakfast buffet was the best and free to hotel guests. We did pay $6.00 each for our two visiting Dtrs and that was cheaper than even eating at any regular restaurant. The facility was clean, and everyone was very hospitable. Will stay there again next year.
One draw back : Bath rooms were VERY small. and Desk Chair was in the walk way to the bath room. Just real tight space. But otherwise a very nice place.

Checked into this often less than favorable reviewed place with an open mind as lodging in Sedalia that will accept dogs is scarce. Stayed over on the 4th of July with car show, horse show & dog show exhibitors as well as families wanting a holiday getaway. Room was one of the cleanest we have ever stayed in, newly remodeled, new carpet, paint, wall treatments, granite sink top, new matresses, extra pillows, nice tv & channel line up, friendly staff & a great hot breakfast buffet {not your average pastries & coffee}. The hotel was full and never had any issues with hot water, service, or loud neighbors like you do in some of the newer places. We would highly recommend this one for your next stay.

This was absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms were small and filthy. The bathroom was so tiny you could put one foot in the shower and the other foot in the doorway. There was mold and dirt everywhere. We asked for a non-smoking room and were put in a smoking room. When I complained the answer was "That is what happens when you book on line". I called the hotel directly to make reservations. When we checked into our room the bed was unmade and there were beer bottles everywhere. We went back to the desk to complain they insisted that the room had been cleaned. Save your money and stay some place else. This one is a dive!
