Inn St Gemme Beauvais

My husband and I stayed overnight in the Hunter's Glen room at the St. Gemme Beauvais B&B in mid-July. We loved our experience there! We arrived just in time for the 2:00 tea time and enjoyed chocolate cake with our tea, and then, after a lovely stroll through the town, shopping and seeing some of the historic homes, we came back for the 5:00 wine tasting. We didn't eat dinner at the inn, opting to go to Chaumette Winery 23 miles outside of town. Next time, we'll definitely dine at the inn. Our room was comfortable, spacious, and wonderfully decorated. We loved the delicious breakfast the next day as well. We definitely plan to return to this wonderful jewel of the city of Ste. Genevieve!

Room Tip: All the rooms are terrific!

This is a beautiful, historic bed & breakfast located in the historical french district of Ste. Genevieve. The proprietors are really nice people. The breakfasts that I had (quiche and the stuffed french toast) were both phenomenal. They have dinner service on Friday and Saturday nights. Dinner was very good as well. Local wines are available to pair with dinner. We missed the afternoon tea at 2 pm but they have free wine served in the dining room at 5 pm. We stayed in the carriage house located behind the inn. That is the ultimate in privacy with a well appointed room. Very unique are the shelves of empty wine bottles placed there by past guests with messages like "50 years" and "she said yes" commemorating the life events of those who have stayed there. All in all, this is a great B&B and we will be returning.

Spent one night at the Inn and loved it! Friendly staff, beautiful inn, comfortable beds and great breakfast--what more could you ask for? Our timing was off and we missed afternoon tea and happy hour so can't advise on that. They do serve dinner and have an interesting and changing menu so hopefully can visit again sometime and give it a try. Ste. Gen is a sleepy little town that has preserved some of it's historic treasures and has a few shops--definitely worth a visit. Hope to return again soon!

Room Tip: We stayed on the 2nd floor the Felix room with large windows!

This was our first stay in a bed and breakfast and I just don't know how others will measure up to this stay. The staff was friendly, the inn was gorgeously decorated, the wine and food were great. This is a great place to stay and de-stress. Looking out the second story window and seeing the street takes you back in time, although it is cool with the air conditioner advantage, in 95 degree heat. I would highly recommend this Inn to anyone, clean, lovely tasteful decorating, traveler friendly, excellent wine and food, AWESOME..... And then some....

Room Tip: My husband and I stayed in room 5 and were truly delighted with the accomodations.

The best things about this bed and breakfast are the beds (which are very important) and the separate air conditioning unit in each room. The breakfasts and the evening wine are just o.k. We didn't get to have the afternoon tea because we weren't there yet. If you are not there at
2 p.m., you miss out on afternoon tea, which is kind of a bummer.

We recently stayed at the Inn for two nights over a weekend, and had a great time . The Inn is beautifully decorated , and is spotless. Jon, Cathy, and Janet were wonderful, and willing to answer any question we asked. The breakfast was over the top for most B&B's, with a varied selection available every morning, be sure to try the stuffed french toast, ooh la la! The Inn suffered a fire several years ago, and has been beautifully restored, with modern ammenities. My wife and I highly enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: The rooms on the upper floors are probably a little more quiet ,we stayed in Odile's room which...

The lodgings and restaurant were wonderful. We ate at the restaurant on Friday and prayed for a cancellation on Saturday so we could eat there again. Jon, Cathy, & Janet make the experience special by always calling you by name, and remembering your preferences at meals. Jon helped us to plan our day on Saturday and a new route back home on Sunday. Make sure you make reservations for at least one meal at the restaurant.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Memories at Dr. Herrick's house - an annex of the Inn. I would like to stay i...
