“Great location and hotel!”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

We have stayed in two of the Drury Inn hotels downtown and have never been disappointed. We generally stay in the Drury Inn at Union Station as it is closer to the Blues games but chose this hotel as it was a bit cheaper to spend the night in after running a 5k. The staff was very helpful and accomodating and the room was large and very clean and comfortable. We locked ourselves out of our room and the manager who let us back in was very poilte and not a bit impatient. The breakfast choices were awesome and the 5:30 kickback wasn't bad either. The building was beautiful as well and the layout was awesome. Overall we had a great experience just as we always do with Drury!

I stayed for 4 days with 3 teens as they attended an event at the convention center.
Pros
very convenient to the convention center.
Very nice staff - everyone was very happy and very helpful.
Breakfast and what could be dinner are free. No great, not terrible.
The boys loved the free pop and popcorn.
Pool was convenient - but very small.

Cons
Our room was a cave. It had no window to the out of doors. this is true of 50% of the rooms. They only look out onto the atruim - not outdoors. The rooms on the 5th floor are right at pool/Breakfast room level with a door out onto the area. Easy access, could be noisy. Only the outer layer of rooms have real windows. If you are clostrophobic at all, this is creapy. Although I had called twice to try to be sure we had a good room, there was no effort to give us what we requested. When we arrived we were just given a choice of available rooms. Our choice was to be under roof construction - or the room we chose. It had a "window" out onto the hall that had the ice machine. It was like a cave with no access to any natural light.

The rooms are very small. There is barely walking distance between the beds.

The beds are too soft, I was fine the first 2 nights but then woke up with a back ache from then on.

The linen is terrible. the sheets are so small and thin that you can feel the bed and the edges come up at night so you end up sleeping on the bed. they have old stye bedspreads which have no covers... a little ick...

The hotel is convenient to the convention center but there is nothing else around there. It is a few blocks walk to anything. There is a great grocery on 9th street - about 6 blocks away.

Room Tip: Insist on a room with a real window....

DruryHotels, General Manager at Drury Inn & Suites St. Louis Convention Center, responded to this review, October 25, 2012
Thank you for your business and for taking to share your experience. The interior atrium of our hotel is not ideal for everyone, though we get many requests for these rooms. The rooms offer convenient access to our amenities including pool, hot tub, fitness room and dining area. Other guests prefer to distance themselves from these activities and request exterior rooms.

The Lumiere Casino entrance is directly across the street from our location. We are 2 blocks from Laclede’s landing, downtown’s dining and entertainment district. The St. Louis Rams play next door. We are four blocks from the Gateway Arch grounds, two blocks from the Metrolink and one block from the Washington Ave. dining and entertainment district.

We do hope you will stay with us again!

Sincerely,
Thomas Logan

We were in town for a surprise trip for our kids at Christmas. The Drury was the perfect spot for a big family. We had a wonderful suite with plenty of extra space. The building is gorgeous with lots of holiday appeal and Lewis and Clark decor in the main entry. The evening meal and breakfast were perfect and saved us a ton on extra eating out. The pool was a favorite and no one there which was better for us. All and all if staying downtown I would definitely book at the downtown Drury again.

Stayed here with 3 guy friends in October for a Cardinals Playoff game. We choose this hotel for its inclusions. The hotel itself is old and a little out dated by still very nice and clean with very friendly staff. Room was a little small for 4 guys, but we made it work. You could find a hotel for a cheaper price that may be a little nicer, but the free happy hour with drinks and heavily apps(we made it our dinner it was so much food), free breakfast and free parking makes this a easy choice over similar hotels in the area.

The hotel is in a very nice location. Just Blocks from the Landing, Casino, Washington St Bars, Dome and about 10 minutes walk from Busch Stadium and the Arch.

I will definitely be staying here again in future trips to St Louis.

We met family members here for a mini-reunion of sorts. Everything was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The free parking was very secure and safe. We loved the breakfast and afternoon kick-back with free food and drinks. The kids loved the free beverages and popcorn. The indoor pool and hot tub was great, we were on the 5th floor close to everything. It was great for a downtown location and they let us check in early. The lobby was very pretty, but the rest of the hotel is not really very fancy, however it provides everything you could possibly want at a very reasonable price.

Room Tip: It might be a little loud on the 5th floor around the dining and pool area, but it is also very hand...

The room was nice, a little dated in the public areas, but awesome quality for the price. Not far from the casino, and walking distance to several restaurants downtown. Requires a room key to get on the elevator for security purposes, and this was a little strange, but helped me feel a little safer as the area seemed a bit run down.
