I was booked in this hotel for a convention and when I checked in I was told there no more nonsmoking rooms left, so I was stuck in a smokig room, and the room stink, I didn't think there were still hotels with these kinds of rooms, the room is unbearable to say the least. The worse part of it was the front desk clerk, she was extremely rude and condescending when I asked her to double checked if there were any rooms nonsmoking still available her answered was short and unapologetic. Not sure why the organizers of the convention asked for room preference (king or Double), I think question should have been; would you like to sleep in an ashtray room? If not, you won't have a choice, too bad if they are booked.

We stayed here once as a couple for a Blues game and again on a weekend zoo/Grant's Farm trip with the kids. Both stays were very good. We received a good discount with our Blues tickets, and found a promo code for a King Suite for the family the second stay. Definitely liked upgrading the room with the family. The suite gives you alot more breathing room. Rooms were nice and pretty clean (as far as hotel rooms go). The food is great for free breakfast and the 5:30 kickback is definitely worth it if it works into your schedule. We got back from the zoo at the perfect time! Pool area was clean with plenty of towels. Staff was super friendly. This is an older hotel, and the walls are a little thin. We were on the 5th floor this time & heard alot of noise from the halls, but we were also right by the elevators. Didn't seem to bother the kids, though, as they slept really well. We will stay again!!

Was taking a shower and the light almost came out of its fitting. The floors are dirty in the bathroom and sink area. Rooms are very tiny and overcrowded. Nearly could no squeeze between the recliner and bed, and since there is too much furniture in the room. the towels and holes in them and they were extremely ruff.

That so called kick back food look awful and not very healthy. Mac and cheese & hot dogs, really? For the price we paid we were probably better off the Sheraton or Double tree. They were also a little closer to the Scotttrade center.

p.s. not the hotel, but If we would have know also there is a lack of taxi service at the train station the other hotels would have been closer

Room Tip: If we would have know also there is a lack of taxi service at the train station the other hotels would have been closer

DruryHotels, General Manager at Drury Inn St. Louis at Union Station, responded to this reviewResponded May 6, 2014

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding our rooms. I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your experience. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our guests' experience. We are examining the quality of our rooms and towels and replacing anything that is past its prime or may be in need of repair. Our recliners are meant to be an alternative means of relaxation for our guests; I am sorry to hear that you felt crowded with the extra piece of furniture. We believe our 5:30 Kickback to be a great benefit to our travelers. While the menu may not appeal to every guest, it is a quick snack to help ease the worries of the day and provide a sense of comfort with familiar favorites.

We noticed that you did provide our service with high marks and we hope that you will give us another chance in the future to let our amenities equal our service!

If you like a hotel close to union station, ballpark, Scottrade center, zoo and eateries downtown St. Louis union station is the place to stay! Its a great hotel to get free food at the 5.30 pm kickback and also from 3 to 10 pm they have popcorn. They have a pretty nice breakfast with a good spread of eggs, sausage, biscuits, yogurt, fruit and cereal. Its nice if you have kids you don't have to get out and spend a lot of money this way. It has a nice pool and whirlpool to relax in. Go later at night there's not a lot of kids there so it is nice.

Stayed here for 2 nights with my son while in town for a St Louis Blues playoff game. I booked a "Blues Package" that included a autographed Blues puck. Upon checking in I was told that offer had just expired even though the website did not have an expiration date and let me book it. The check in clerk just said "Sorry"
The next morning at Breakfast the general manager was speaking with guests. I talked to him about our disappointment with the package not being honored. He asked for my name and said he was going to look into. A few minutes later he returned and gave my son the autographed puck and apologized. He was very nice and professional.
The hotel has been built into a converted historic building. The hotel is very well done and very clean. The room was good size with a recliner, desk and chair, refrigerator and microwave, free wifi and hotel also offered free self parking. The bed was very comfortable.
The hotel offers free breakfast and evening drinks and food.
The hotel is within walking distance of the Blues home arena the Scottrade center.
We will be back.
